I got tired of trying to find good quality facial jewelry for my nose piercing, so I made one.
about me
I studied different forms of dancing, including Classical Egyptian bellydancing, and Medieval dances.
While studying Medieval dancing, I was instructed on how to teach dancing in the US, by Lady Silva and Random Ap Hobart of the SCA ('90 to '94). Random taught me how to translate body movements to simple descriptions, and how to correctly apply balance with propper movement. Since Dec 2000 I started studying Egyptian belly dance again, then American Tribal Style bellydance, then became a performer, and now a teacher and CoDirector of The Black Swan Tribe ( www.blackswantribe.com.au )

Many years ago, I used to paint, usually with oils, and acrylics. Unfortunately, the chemicals in the paints and cleaners caused migraines, and severe nosebleeds. I had a choice, stop painting, or have nose cauterized. I chose to be able to smell...

Experiment in Candlelight and shadow.
My first work using Adobe Lightroom. I adjusted the tone to have an antiqued lighting, and also used a few other tools to improve the overall appearance and mood. It came out so well, I made series, titled ...

Many years ago, I used to paint, usually with oils, and acrylics. Unfortunately, the chemicals in the paints and cleaners caused migraines, and severe nosebleeds. I had a choice, stop painting, or have nose cauterized. I chose to be able to smell and taste.
With the advent of a graphics tablet, a stylus, and a great piece of software, I have been able to paint again. This artwork was featured on an art site. This isn't a manipulated photograph, but a layer upon layer digital painting.

Taken from across the Swan River, high up in Kings’ Park.
The scudding clouds caused light metering to keep changing almost every nano-second. Because of this, the color hue didn’t match in all three pictures that I had deliberately taken to make a panoramic scene
So, I desaturated all three images, and tweaked the contrast/brightness until they all matched, and this was the result.

Been very busy with my photography, family, and personal trainer. My left leg is getting very strong, and it won't be long before I am back to dancing and teaching full time again. We have a core of dedicated students who have been going to classes with Meegan, to mostly keep in shape for when I am back 'to torture' them. :)
