born and raised in manhattan, nyc, alex started spinning records in 1999 while pursuing his undergrad studies in cambridge, ma... with an initial passion for psy trance and goa, alex played a handful of parties in the greater boston area before moving to berkeley, ca, for grad school in 2002... during this time he explored other genres of electronic music including hard trance, uk hard house, and nrg...

under the stage name *apot* he has been playing out consistently in the sf-bay area rave, underground, and club scene since 2003... he later began teaching himself music composition and analog synthesis in late 2005 and has since started producing electronic music while exploring a growing interest in progressive house and nu-school breaks...

with flair, energy, and charisma, apot delivers seamless mixing second only to the quality of his track selection and creative programming... his experience behind the decks and in the studio has left him with a driving initiative to take risks and an ability to interact with the dance floor... several of his mixes have been played around the world, including two features on hard house uk radio, london's top hard dance radio station...

apot has performed at events featuring some of the world's most influential producers and dj's including tandu, michael parsberg (safri duo), steve baltes, ddr, eufex, james lawson, alex calver, ali wilson, danny gilligan, banga matt, nicholas bennison, matt k, ij sinnetti, andrew innes, hardrive, phil able, mars, mystre, dyloot, icon, dragn'fly, denise, and many others...

apot has also performed at many renowned bay area venues including the blue cube, 1015, the social club, crash, the edge nightclub, club oasis, the sf dj academy, club octane, the stoney inn, homebase, the crackhouse, the noodle factory, the dungeon, the modifortress, telic, and many others... he has also traveled out of state and performed in other cities across the country...
