He was a good cat.
He was really sweet and friendly.
Even people that don’t like cats liked him
He used to gardening with my Dad and would let him dress him up with leaves and vines, although he seemed to realized how stupid he looked and would not let me take a picture of him dressed up like the Lion King.
Once, he crawled into a hole in the attic to meow thru the air vents and let us know that Ling was trapped in the garage.

He is survived by his sister Ling and possibly other cats from that litter that I never met.

Coolest Cemetery...ever!

Saturday I took my grandmother to the cemetery for a mass since they finally got the plaque on my aunt’s (her sister) niche. Apparently they do a mass every Saturday at the cemetery. One of the priests looks a lot like George Lucas which went along with the fact that there was this one carving that might have been Jesus rising from the grave but looked a lot more like Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite.
Anyway…after the mass, when you get out of the church they have a big table set up and they give you pastelitos and juice and even flowers in case u wanna go put them on a grave.
But the best part is, they also give out water bottles with labels that say “Cementerios Cristianos” with a big cross in the front, you, know, in case you run into some vampire while your eating your pastelitos.

My computer has been acting up lately, getting all these weird popups and being slow so that’s why I haven’t been online. I spend all weekend trying to clean it up and running every antivirus-type program I have.
Lets hope it worked!

I just finished uploading the photos of the new years ritual.
Here's the link:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jinglebat/album?.dir=/50fd

I'm not sure how valid the ritual is, since we got the idea from an episode of Friends, but it was fun to do.

We each got a strip of paper and a pencil and on one half of the paper we had to write all the things we hated about 2005 and we didnt want to carry on to the new year. On the other half we wrote things we wanted to happen in 2006. The bad stuff we burned in a little bonfire, which we danced around and the good things we buried 9so they grow) and we danced around them too. Then we took a bucket of water and walked through the whole house with it (well, danced) ending in the front door where the water gets thrown out taking all the bad with it. that part is actually an old cuban custom.

We had no electricity, no phones, no cell phone reception and there was no gas anywhere because all the pumpms work with electricity. There was also an 8pm curfew since there were no street lights. Still to be honest, it was mostly inconvenient, doesnt really compare to what happened in New Orleans.

Its very weird to be in complete darkness from 6pm on...no that I could fall asleep early. Luckily, I had my vacation already set to go to NYC for halloween and I have been here since Friday :) YaaY! I'll post pictures when I get back home. I go back tomorrow and from what I understand there is electricity and phones (both cell and land lines) but no cable and the curfew now is midnitte. My job is open so I have to go back to work but there is no AC and we have no windows in the office so that's gonna suck.

Anyway, that's my update in case anybody's been wondering where I have been.

Most traffic lights are still out tho, so I'm DREADING going to work tomorrow. If it takes me over an hour normally to get there, I dont even want to think what hell its going to be with no lights. >:P

I kinda want to dress up for it...youi know me: any excuse for a costume, but since I'm not coming back home, I dont know that I really want to be wearing wizard robes all day at work...to see Willy Wonka and then to the bookstore.

Well, its past midnite, so its techinically not my bday anymore even tho I never consider a day over untill I go to sleep. Don't worry, I'm not mad if you are reading this and didn't say Happy Bday to me because I know must of my tribe friends have no idea where my bday is, and that is just because I never told anybody.

It had a good time, it was cool that I got a long weekend off for my bday and had a good time but now the last thing I want to do is go back to work tomorrow :(

What was my point? Oh yes, I'm here. I have not been posting a much at all lately so if anybody was wondering about me, I am here and I have been lurching and reading all the posts on the tribes I belong to, I just been too sleepy by the time I get home and online to do any typing. So I'm just doing the quick thing right now by posting on my blog and at least some people get to know where I'm at.

Yeck! I hate having a cold! I feel like crap..I didnt even get to celebrate friday the 13th.
On a happier note, I finally got my computer to stop crashing, so last nite I was hypnotized for way longer than I care to admit playing with the site that makes these little dolls.

So a couple of days ago (wed or thur I think) I joined MySpace mostly because Iggy wanted to add me as a friend, Iggy being Luci's bird which I will call a parrot because I dont remember how to spell cockatiel (cockatielle? cockattiele?) and yes its a real bird, not an euphemism and he gets friends invites and invitations to clubs, but thats another story.

The point is, due what I can only assume is some sort of glictch, I have been inundated with messages and friend invites. I'm talking hundreds. I had about 8000 views last time I looked. I barely have 2000 on Tribe and I have been on for a year and a half and post all the time. WTF? Is not like I'm half naked on my profile or anything, I have this picture of me at work posted.

My email is flooded with messages (there has to be a way to disable them announcing every damn time I get a message) and a lot of the pages make my computer crash. The only reason I'm bothering to look thru them is I did find one friend I had lost touch with and not talk to for years, so I'm kinda curious to see who else I find. I might just get too annoyed soon and just delete the account, if all the messages dont stop soon.
If I decide to keep it I'll eventually post a link so you guys that I am actually friends with can be on my friend list.

...or maybe it was a burrito, it really doesnt matter, the point if there was some flaming mexican food in the middle of the street which was bizarre yet oddly appropiate for cinco de mayo.
I really have no idea what the deal what, but when I was driving I see something on fire in the middle of the street and when I get closer I notice its a paper plate with a taco still wrapped in the taco bell paper and its on fire. What was that all about?
The ceremonial lighting of the taco?
"When I was little we were poor and we coulnt afford fireworks so we would just light tacos instead"
"Hurry up on kids, we're going to set the tacos on fire now"
WTF?
I wish I had my camera on me.

Actually...I have been back for almost a week but between jet lag, unpacking and catching up at work, I havent felt like doing much.
The convergence was so much fun, I'm glad I went and I definitely want to go back next year. There's a picture of me and Luci on the last night. I like how I look in that one. I'm having a really hard time finding pictures that I dont look bad in, I swear, I'm te most unphotogeninc person in the universe. I went to Walmart today to print some of the pictures but they didnt print them all and they gave me about 10 copies of a picture of the celing? WTF??? I was being lazy so I didn't even check them until I got home and when I went back tonite the machine to do the prints was broken to do any reprints and there was way too much of a line for me to go complain about the $3 they owe me so I just said fuck it.

Where does my time go? I have been packing for a week and I'm still not done. It's not like I have been on tribe that much this week or anything, so I'm blaming it on some kind of rip in the space/time continium.
I found out it's going to be cold in San Diego too so now I have no idea of what else to take that will be warm AND fit in what little space I have left in my suitcase.

Finally got a nice digital camera today. Not nessesarily for the trip, I just wanted one. But the trip seems like a good excuse. I took this picture of my desk to test it out and it seems to working fine.

Damn, it's 2am, I ned to go to sleep. I'll do the rest of this stuff tomorrow. I kinda wanted to paly with the new profiles too...I tried making the background black but my pictures were too dark and you couln't see anything. They need to make mine purple.

I think this pic might be more appropiate for today.
Do I really need to wear something green to work tomorrow? I already have my nails lime green. I can't even think of one green thing I own other than the shirt I work today and I am not wearing it again tomorrow, no matter how adorable it is. That and my pijamas, but I dont want to wear that either. I wonder if I could get away with my camouflage skirt. I do have a green wool suit from the 60's with a matching hat and everything but it's way too hot for that. At least it's cool I'm working somewhere they encurage dressing up. I need to make sure I find that sombrero before 5 de Mayo.

Am I supposed to be updating this thing regularly? Like everyday or something? Cuz I'm really not...I don't think anybody even reads it unless they stumble on it by accident. Then again, if anybody keeps coming back here expecting to read new stuff more often than not they will be disapointed. So much pressure... I already waste enough time online to be now a slave to the blog on top of that. Damn you cursed evil blog!

I'm going to try putting a picture on it. It might not have much content, but it will at least be decorated. It's a picture Michele took of me at Vamp, in case anybody is wondering what that is. I didn't even know what it was when she gave it to me and it's me. In my defense the picture was on it's side at the time. It's not like I'm one of those dogs that barks at their reflection.
