Careless Spring dances in some far off valley,
laughing at the lilies that blossom 'neath his feet,
while Old Widow Winter sits silent beside me,
pale eyes on the horizon.

‘Twas the night before Yuletide and all through the Hall
Not a creature was stirring, not warrior nor thrall.
And I in my armor, my shield and my helm
Was drunker than anyone else in the Realm.
I staggered upstairs and fell into bed
While four quarts of mead were ablaze in my head.
Then up from below came the sounds of a brawl
So I grabbed up my axe and ran down to the Hall.
I missed the last step and crashed down in a heap
Thinking, "Why can't those low-lifes downstairs go ...

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a BITCH.
When I stand up for those I love, they call me a BITCH.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, they call me a BITCH.
Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart. It means I live my life MY way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am defined as a BITCH.
The same thing happens when I take time for myself inste...

Camelot’s Lady Knight Goes Questing

Regular Chivalry Today readers and podcast listeners know that I was
recently asked to play King Arthur in a stage production of Camelot
in San Diego. I’m happy to tell you that the production has just
closed, and if you wonder what the king is doing tonight … well, he’s
tired. Being King Arthur was an exhausting but wonderful experience.
There’s much to reflect back on, bu...

I'm getting rid of some of the sci-fi and fantasy art I've purchased over the years at conventions. Most of it is signed prints by midwest artists, but there are some originals in there too. Got it listed on eBay. Will be adding more this next week.

about me
Single, childfree, tattooed, opinionated, eclectic, liminal & lovin' it. Naturally chaotic neutral, prone to dzogchen meditation and random acts of mysticism. Owned by a dog, 2 cats, 1 Bengal kitten & a rabbit. On a wonderful quest of Self-development (enlightenment & endarkenment), prone to finding meaning in ridiculous things, attempting to restore who I was and graft it onto who I am. The Tao te ching and Upanishads resonant deeply with me. I am prone to taking the side of the underdog (esp. if the underdog is being slandered and isn't around to defend him/herself) and consider it the more honorable thing to do than allow the slander to continue unfounded, even if it means I am slandered in return (and considered dishonorable by the group doing the slander. Dontcha love irony?). The winds of change have awakened the urge to wander yet again: dreaming of being elsewhere within a year. I geekily love my job as a Kingdom herald. B.A. English Literature major, Philosophy of Religious Studies major, Anthropology minor. Grad school will likely be something even less useful like Anglo-Saxon poetry. I'm also very geekily excited about being an editor for my RS professor's new anthology. My current causes are SHAMA Well and the Layne Staley Fund. [All photos in my album, w/ the exception of my profile icon and the SP doll, are my own work.]
