Pictured: Stonehenge & the Stonehenge Julia set from 1996.
"The British Ministry of Defense, Police, Stonehenge Security and scientists from around the world are continuing to investigate the incredible "Stonehenge Julia Set" formation (huge 508' diameter spiral with 149 circles) which appeared in the early evening on July 7, within a 15 - 45 minute time period. Reports indicate that no one, including Stonehenge Security, the farmer or motorists on the busy A303 motorway which passes the field saw or heard anything or anyone in the field during that time."

Looks like a great book:

I haven't read it, yet, but I'd love to know their secrets.

hey argon, why don't you post up the video you showed me and zach?

here it is. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to fake shaky camera with emerging crop circles?

Thanks, Spirit! I love that video as it matches the eye witness accounts and is very compelling but it appears to be a fake. The guy who made it was extremely evasive, worked at a video production facility, and all but admitted it was a fake. There's improper video interlace on the "original" tape and other problems, too. Notice when the balls of light sweep outside of the frame. A hand held cameraman would have tracked the balls of light and not assumed that they would come back into the frame. That's because, supposedly, the footage was shot on a tripod and the "hand-held" camera jitter was added afterwards. I really wanted to believe this one but it gets harder and harder.

The sordid details:

The final nail in the coffin (for me) was the crop circle itself. It's a very rough snowflake design and one of the arms is bent quite a few degrees. The overall design is sloppy and uninspiring, too.

Secrets in the Fields is by far the best book I've read about crop circles. It's basic premise--it is a pretty sober account of the experiences and info over the last 20 or so years. It seems that there are multiple circlemakers. In the end he says he doesn't know if humans are creating them or not, but if we are, then we are using some hithero unknown advanced technology.
