dances with instruments

like any sort of dance, the movement of my fingers/arms/lips/breath & whole body on the harp or the vielle-a-roue (hurdy gurdy in English) is easier the more often I do it. When I play with them often, they are happier, more open to suggestion. I expect this may be true of many dance partners: if one doesn't dance with them often enough, one's partner could get pouty, or resentful perhaps. Proper attention, the ritual of entering into communion through physical movement, the sound of the music as we dance...

Instruments have a lot of soul and Imbas in them. My pal who is great maker of harps always calls me when he brings one to life..."I just lit the incense, the top is on theharp".

Ah, the hurdy gurdy!
The hurdy gurdy is such a fun instrument. I have come to very much enjoy Felicia of Pint & Dale play hers in their sets.
