Magpie Poem

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a letter,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.

Stop, children, what's that sound...

...is not what you think.

I was discussing my current state of domesticity with the boyfriend the other night and cracked a joke about learning domestic tasks and forgotten crafts in preparation for the zombie apocalypse. (Really I just enjoy cooking and puttering around in the dirt but am not ready to admit to having a domestic streak.)

That aside, it is TOTALLY true. Follow my logic (albeit novel, I admit.) If one is to propose that brainless consumption is the hallmark of the shuffl... read more

Okay, I just have to say a few things...

I don't like the idea of Valentine's Day. It's not cause I'm bitter and lonely, cause I'm not either. Well, maybe a little bitter, but only in that dark chocolate sorta way...

Anyway. No one knows who the real St. Valentine was. There are several in the Catholic canon, but all they know about the one supposedly celebrated by the feast of February 14th is his name and where he's buried. He didn't do anything of notable importance, though Chaucer s... read more

I'll eventually start doing originals, but the step-by-steps in Dreamscapes give one a good se... read more

It never ceases to amaze me how no matter how many tattoos or piercings a person has, be it one or one hundred, the vast majority crave more. I have never met a person who says they're finished after they've really delved into the world of body modification. It seems for each individual to be a unique experience, not a single one the same as the others. Each one building on the others in layers, like a well told story. Some are not really notable, shrugged off with a "Nah, it didn't hurt," an... read more

Two cents...

Re: ~Where The Wild Things Are~ (in A Circle of Merry Folk) I got all weepy too, arroooooo!!!!!! Was kinda sad that the Arcade Fire song from the trailer wasn't in the movie or during the credits. When I saw the trailer in the theater, I cried. Both times. I'm so sappy sometimes. Wild Things is my favorite... read more
