I'm posting the diagram in my blog, since there doesn't seem to be a way to add it to the message.
Cutting: the pattern piece is HALF of each gore. You don't have to make two of the pattern, but it might make your life easier during cutting. You can cut it in either of two ways, depending on the width of your fabric.
1) Across the fabric
-Pros
Fewer seams, since all of the gores are cut in one piece except the last one
The pattern piece may fit more easily since it is a few inches shor...

I have an mp3 file that I would like to have sheet music for. Not the entire score, just the melody line. I can provide mp3 file and chords for the piece, but I haven't been able to find sheet music for it. Please hlep! This is for my first-ever country dance choreography attempt :).
By the way, the dance is awesome. There's a Maypole version which is super easy and very cool, and a stage version which is amazingly awesome. Now I just need some victi- I mean, volunteers to learn it! I hav...

I posted these instructions for a friend, and thought I'd repost so I can keep track of it. These instructions are for drawing a pattern for a skirt that has 6 gores but is circular in its final dimensions. So, I'm feeling like crap and I thought I'd share. I think I caught a cold on Sunday due to the freezing weather at dance practice. Yes, I know that cold weather can't *actually* make you sick, but working harder to keep your body warm can drastic...

Recipe proofreading
(blog entry)
So here's the issue: I almost never use recipes, and when I do use a recipe it's more for an idea of what to use, and then I take off on my own. Therefore, I am particularly bad at *writing* recipes. I remember all of the things that go in. I have...
