It brings me sort of down reading all the news of everyone getting ready for Burning Man this year and knowing physically that I will not be a part of it. I will miss the late night shifts and seeing the people that are out and about and then being out there in the dirt to see some of the greatest sunrises around. Then greeting the early morning people as my partner and iI head back to headquaters and off to get morning coffee. I will miss the wind ripping across the playa to bring its surface up in ghost like dances that get into everything about you, down to your soul. It may only be a little time in the desert, but the memories are a lifetime.

The excitment mounts as the lists are formed, the tents dragged out for inspection. The planning of many things that lead to the great trek home to the playa. Can't wait to see you all and howl at the moon.

To a desolate playa we bring a little life. Then we make a journey within our souls, To bring some sense of life back to a weary self. Welcome to Black Rock City, Where nothing exists but the human race. We are known as burners, citizens of BRC.. We make the trek each year from near and far, When the man calls us home. Neither dust, nor heat has swayed you from here, Reach out your hand to embrace a community, Filled with spirit, all following a destiney, As you howl the sun from the sky. Welcome to Black Rock City, Where nothing exists but the human race, We are known as burners, citizens of BRC.. We make the trek each year from near and far, When the man calls us home. Now my friend has the man lights up the night, What message from its wisdom do you take. What will sustain you for another year, Until the man whispers, "It's time to come home again." copywrite P. Smith, Aurtist's Aura 2005
The playa dust slowly disappears as things are cleaned and stored.

The buzz of reality comes rushing in. Was it a dream. Was I really there. Where do I find the bridge between the two.
We got back late Thursday from Black Rock. Saturday and Sunday as we cleaned the truck and unloaded things. I was already homesick for my family in Black Rock. I am very fond of some of the people I only get to see once a year. And for a person that has trust issues I have worked for four years building this trust with some very great people in Black Rock. I hope by being on the Tribe that I can keep in touch with some of them.
