about me
My primary passion is my silat (internal martial art) practice. I could train silat and do self-care all day long. I'm currently near the intersection of Ayurveda and the Tao. Discovering a new relationship with air and water, my eyes and ears, my feet. Maybe I'd never used them before?
I desire to share my awareness through movement practice with children. My intention is to empower young women by holding space for them to create healthy, positive relationships with their bodies.
Your body tells me more than your words. My body tells you more than my words. I have more questions than answers. I'm sure to tell you what I think. A little bird told me. When I listen the land speaks. The hills are alive with the sound of music. I am privy to the secrets. I am a fox in sheep's clothing. The crane, snake, deer, horse, trees, flowers, mountains, ocean, sky are my teachers. Sometimes an eagle is just an eagle; sometimes a dead banana slug is just a dead banana slug. A live banana slug tells a very different story.
I like sitting on the floor, rolling on the floor, sliding on the floor, tuning into my body, eating with my fingers, eating clean food, drinking water, using my eyes and ears, whispering from my heart into the ear of the Divine. I enjoy caring for those I love. The magic is in my intention. Sri Pavanasuta Hanumana ki Jai! Sri Sat Guru dev Bhagavan ki Jai!
I am knitting a sweater out of worsted merino superwash wool. The pattern comes from the Winter 2000/2001 Interweave Knits magazine. I loved the photo of the sweater so much I have carried the pattern around for seven years. I finally feel good enough about my knitability to take on a large project.
At the end of day one of my new project it looks like this. Only 15 balls of yarn to go... It is working up so fast! Granted, I knit last night until 3 AM. At this rate I'll be finished...

Saya tinggal di Bali. Di Bali saya tinggal di Sayan. Kabar bagus. Brushing up on my bahasa Indonesia. Much shopping today. Smile. Loving the sensory experience, this time familiar and comforting. Smells, sounds, flavors, textures, moisture, warmth, light. I'm aware that I don't quite believe that I am here. I arrived quickly, comfortably, and almost unexpectedly. Effortless. My level of accommodation went from cold water, no-flush, rice farmer homestay of my...

7am in Taiwan, 4pm yesterday in California.
En route to Bali where it is 6am.
I am in the China Airlines "Dynasty Club" Lounge in the airport in Taipei. Love the wireless. We upgraded to biz class at the last minute and I am so glad we did. I got maybe 9 uninterrupted hours of sleep on the flight. My seat leaned way back and had a great foot rest. The Lounge food was fun. Six varieties of dim sum and noodle soup made to order. Pretty amazing. On the plane we were ...

Arrived home to find this beautiful gladiolus blooming. My excitement for the new day woke me very early in the morning. Before the sun. The morning was misty and magical, as summers in Big Sur are. I prepared for my breathing practice. Walked into my field to find two deer there, eating breakfast in the tall grass. They became alert and examined me with their ears.
I pretended I was a deer. Examined them with my hands up like deer ears. They were interested and di...

I am in Graz.
Silat training has been amazing. The past weekend was an intensive for beginners, which means I had the opportunity to tune in on my technique. Did many of repetitions of the foundational movements. Then, to the side of the class, had the opportunity to use the fantastic and enormous floor for my own short movements and form. On Saturday evening, the class was scheduled to watch a silat demonstration. Alexandra and I were excited, looking forward to seei...

"One Love"
I've attended two Cuddle Parties. One personally groundbreaking thing I learned at Cuddle Party: "If you're a maybe, say no." Thanks for that.
In my experience, cuddling is the quickest and coziest way to get right to the point: We're All One...
