I have 3 beautiful children and the most caring, gorgeous, intelligent, humorous husband a woman could ask for. My life is a blessing.
Three years ago I was in despair and going thru a divorce. It all seems like such a blur now. The only thing I know, I truly know, is that my God was able to seal a layer of constantly revolving protection around my sanity thru my hoops. Every night I would hoop for hours. I hooped right through the pain and confusion of it all. I hooped through my tears. Instead of trembling in fear, I spun around and around celebrating the only thing that could take me away and give me joy through all the turmoil and questions to which there were no answers. Three years later (now) I found out that it's not just a weird hobby of mine. People out there actually hoop like me? I was so relieved and excited! So now I have decided to pursue my passion. God has given me this ability, this gift, and I plan to ignite a fire here in Alabama with the help of YOU GUYS! Thanks to all of you holding my hand and educating me. I am thrilled to find ot that I am not a weirdo. LOL! And, yes, I did remarry. I found my soulmate!!!! He is WONDERFUL and we have an 8 month old baby. You'll meet him at Hoop Convergence. ;) Hoop on!

I thought I already posted this on my blog today but I am not seeing it. My apologies if it shows up twice. This article was published today. My father is the man that was shot. I was the first one to the hospital that night. I re-live the phone call everyday in my mind and in my heart. What a horrible night. He died on the O.R. table but they were able to restart his heart. I kept getting more and more sick. I thought, "What in the heck is wrong with me?" I don't party. I get 7+ hours of sleep every night. I eat well. I stay away from caffeine and don't even like candy. I get plenty of exersize. I am happy. But for 3 days I haven't been able to get up and do a thing. Not hoop. Not even talk. It hurts too much. I haven't been able to take care of my kids. My sweet Benjamin has had to step in and be a single dad while I lie in bed.

This has been one heck of a month. I got my CT scan results. The radiologist says I have several cysts on my left ovary. The Dr. sounded rather surprised since the pain and burning sensation I'd been feeling was on the right side. He attributed that to the fluid that leaked into my abdomen when the cyst ruptured. After boohooing for several hours yesterday and reading so many negative pieces of literature regarding dogs with parvo, I rushed to home to see my husband. Our cat, Ashe, was sitting on the doorstep like queen of the castle or something. She stretched out then slowly moved out of the way. She definitely didn't miss the dog. LOL.
