My Testimonials

August 9, 2006
OK, I have to admit, I have not actually seen this guy in 4.5 years - before that NZ, Aussie and Indonesia and stuff trip. So this testimony has a certain patina to it.

Bullet points to follow:
- Alex rocks as my partner in Beach Volleyball. I don't think, I was ever any good at this sport, not sure he is any good at it either, but we were considerably successful driving doubles much better than us quite nuts, because somehow we just would not give up a ball unless it really had made a dent into the sand. Ah, the joy! You rock!! I will set for you any day :)
- You may not know this, but you caused some rather important/interesting things/ideas in my life.
I asked you about your necklace, and you told me about Burning Man. Never told me, though, what your performance on stage was to get it , now that I think about it .... My reaction was - huh, that sounds interesting, I want to learn more about this, I think I would like going there ....
- you inspired me to reconsider 8-5 as the only choice.
- the evening you left CA, i bought a laptop. Part of the reason was, that I wanted to stay in touch. That little laptop now played an important role in what happened for the following 4 years. Never heard the term 'Burning Man' again in those 4 years ...
- Anyway, we are leaving the realm of Alex now, but funny enough, the first guy I met after those 4 years (post-many-things), his second or fifth sentence contained the word "Burning Man". Kinda like "brackets" around the 4 years of marriage and all that happened. Alright, I got it. I am going!

...And how fitting, that I should meet you again, on Monday at Midnight, by the Man. Looking forward. Love you!!

This guy is AweSome! I met him 16 hours before riding in an RV to Burning Man with him. A looong 26 hr drive, with him and the rest of my new burner family, I still had no clue what to think of him. A week at BM though, he is one man I am extremely happy to have as a friend. The kindness and warmth he exudes, he's talented, he's funny and he sincerely cares about his friends. Besides he knows how to par-tay! I couldn't have asked for a better Veteran as my first burn guide. Not to mention, his body is rock hard and he is HoT!
I love you sweetie! dusty hugs and firey kisses, Muah!

On the road again

Does anyone still need a comfy ride from the Denver (ish) area to BRC? I've decided to take my 28 foot home home, but am a few riders short of making it happen. Leaving saturday-ish, returning tuesday-ish. Most luxurious ride to BM you'll ever have. Plenty room for 'normal' (ha!) amount of gear.

*This post is not meant to make those trapped in wintery bits of Ameica, or elsewhere, feel bad. Really. It's just meant to be an update of my 'job' on the Andaman Islands. If as a result of reading it you want to burn down your house for warmth, I cannot be held responsible. If, however, you are filled with the urge to quite your job, sell your pets, and book a flight, I'll meet you at the airport and take all the blame.*

As of now, this has proved to be the single greatest 'job' int he h... read more

I just wanted to let anyone know who is interested that I'm about to get on a plane and head back to the Andaman Islands in India. I've got a job as a scuba divemaster, and could be there for the whole season, which goes until April/May-ish. I should be online fairly regularly, and if anyone needs an escape from the cold North American winter, come on out and play. Write me and I'll tell you all about how to get there.
I won't be blogging much, if at all because the day to day life of a DM ... read more

As many of you know, one of my many professions is a tree trimmer/ remover (urban lumberjack, as I like to call it.) A co-worker and I are thinking about going to coastal Texas where there is substantial storm damage and see if there is extra work that needs done. I don't think I know anyone directly who lives down there, but am trying to find someone who could recommend where to go, and might have a little locals knowledge when we get there. We're taking a RV down, and are planning to find a... read more
