Aziyade is my Teacher/Mentor. She is the most phenomenal dancer and teacher. She is so entertaining to watch and makes you feel like a part of her performance. Her technique is awesome. I am so enamored with her and especially when I watch her dance. She is such an amazing person and is as beautiful on the inside as she is outside. I have always wanted to become a professional bellydancer since I was a little girl. With Aziyade at my side, I know my dream will come true. It took until I was 35 years old to start my dream but I feel that is because it was meant for Aziyade to be my teacher. I am her biggest fan. Now, my ultimate dream is to perform with her someday and make her smile as much as she makes me!

about me
In my fantasy life, I'm NOT a geek, but I play one in reality. For the area, I'm also a reasonably successful bellydancer with no dependents except a dog who I love more than I ever thought possible, and a cat who hates me. I like to draw in charcoal because it's fun to get your fingers dirty. My business card says I'm a graphic artist, but I don't believe it. I studied literature and creative writing in school, and I really should get back to it someday.
Update: We have beginners bellydance classes starting every month. Visit www.evansvillebellydance.com for more info!

I stole the phrase from scientology, but I like the way it sounds:

Getting Clear. Simple and to the point. A good goal.
Well, are we ever actually ready? I'm at least officially registered for the Sept. Level 2. Been workin' that finger cymbal choreography every waking minute, and I've also given up walking in favor of pas de bourees with alternating pelvic circles, which has certainly given them something to talk about at work. :)

So if I manage to pass this test, I've got a Level 3 prep to look forward to. Suddenly I'm very very frightened. LOL!
For those of you in-the-know, my darling husband had his last surgery on June 18, and seems to be recovering very well. I hope this is the miracle cure we were promised, and it seems to be, as he can actually BREATHE now for the first time in about a year. His torso looks like he was attacked by a shark, though. But hey -- chicks dig scars.
