I have an undeserved reputation for being unapproachable, aloof, even egotistical. Inititlly it stems from a gruff appearance, compounded by a low vocal register. Additionally, I'm on the shy side (social anxiety disorder as the shrinks call it), so it's highly unlikely I'll make the first move, very challenging when trying to meet guys. So, if you like what you see and read here, say so. Or, if you see me out somewhere, step up and introduce yourself. Be warned: In-person introductions likely will trigger that invisible protective shield, but with a modicum of persistence, you'll get me to open up. You'll eventually discover someone who's opinionated, but generally attitude-free, who never plays games or flakes (if a bit forgetful), who is intelligent though not very intuitive, terminally honest, trustworthy and dependable, and fiercely loyal. In other words, a big Boy Scout at the core.
