Golficus Carticus Rides Again! (blog entry) It snowed today and so I busted out Golficus Carticus for it's first run since the washdown. Golficus Carticus II (blog entry) Aired up the tires on the new OLD golf cart and unloaded it from the box truck. Then I pressure washed the moss and even grass off of it. It had been sitting for years but it has 4 wheels and steers so I'm going to give it a shot. It has a real... read more

My Blog

It snowed today and so I busted out Golficus Carticus for it's first run since the washdown. There was some slight hesitation but then we were off through the slush and by the park where kids were snow ball fighting from forts of dirty snow. Continuing on I drove down the access road to the flood plane that my step dad owns. Golficus Carticus handled well. I did a half cookie in front of the Aronia berries and snapped several pictures. Then it was off back the way I came and up the hill.... read more

Rounded up batteries and got them charged up to somewhat equal levels. Tomorrow will be the big day of the test. I looked in to the condition of the wiring again today and another stroke of good luck. The wires to the battery compartment were cut and not removed from their home in the whole wiring scheme. This is so awesome because I may be able to make them work as is or if I have to do a replacement will be a breeze. Things are looking up!

I did some more work on GC2 and made some major discoveries. I removed the top, seats, bag cups and took a good look at the workings. things look old but unaltered. I found and researched the serial number and I know now for sure it is a DE-40 that was made in 1976. The first year the model was made. I managed to find several wiring diagrams on the internet that answered some questions I had about battery wiring and general electrical configuration. I think I can have a run test of the ... read more

Aired up the tires on the new OLD golf cart and unloaded it from the box truck. Then I pressure washed the moss and even grass off of it. It had been sitting for years but it has 4 wheels and steers so I'm going to give it a shot. It has a really funky cooler next to the steering tube that I think will have to find another use somewhere else. It is a Harey Davidson by AMF so now I have finally gone and done it. I own a Harley. What's next is figuring out what voltage the motor is and t... read more
