i'm absolutely enamoured with belly dancing. i've studied the art for over ten years, with a break here or there. for the most part, i only had access through videos and the occasional workshop. i've been taking classes with sabrina parshall on and off for about five years. she's been a huge influence on my technique and expression. her classes are always fun! i also study with jenabah, formerly of domba and lacy warfel. in the past year, i've taken workshops with carolena nerricio, zoe jakes, moria chappell, amel tafsout, heather stants, kajira djoumana, stephanie barto, and blue lotus tribe. in the past, i've also had a couple of classes with na'imah (in grand rapids) and yasmina amal, director of the habibi dancers (in the lansing area), as well as a class in bharatanatyam with mohana swamy of benton harbor.

i also dance with khaled (who, coincidentally, happens to be my sweetie)... it's amazing to have someone so close to share one of my favorite passtimes. i also get up the gumption to host dance events from time to time. i've hosted several workshops and benefit shows. i look forward to having the chance to bring together west michigan's middle eastern dance community. there are alot of talented and friendly people in the area that could only benefit from getting to know each other. i look forward to learning as much as possible from as many teachers as possible. in about a year or so, once we are married, khaled and i plan to move to the west coast to further immerse ourselves in the american belly dance scene.
