This has been on my "to do" list for quite some time. Dare I say over a year? Miss Crash and I tend to accumulate stuff faster than we can find places to adequately store it.

It's time for this to end. It's time that I have a functioning garage.

Who has dealt with this in the past and came out victorious? What tips do you have to make this a faster, more efficient job? I know time is one thing, but anything that helps to speed up the process, or break it down properly will help.

A few thoughts on Prop 1A:

First off .... the general ballot has prop 1 printed. I'm sure you're all checking out the updates online anyway.

After reading the text of the bill, several pages of analysis, and propaganda from both sides, I am leaning to vote no on this proposition. I would love the idea of a fast train to take me from SF to LA, or even eventually SAC to LA, but that's over a decade away, so I can't think like that.

... and there it is. A yellow banner held up by two people standing on an overpass. The intent: to get their message out to thousands of drivers just trying to finish out the work week. It took me a few seconds to narrow in on the contrasting red-on-yellow lettering, my eyes are apparently not what they were in days past. Finally, I was able to see it.

They are looking to close 600 of their underproductive shops, costing as many as 12,000 jobs lost. I think I am not the only one when I say that this is no real surprise. When, in cities like Rocklin, where I kid you not ... there is literally a Starbucks on every corner from my Dad's house.

The problem that I have with this is how and why they are going about closing the shops.... read more
