Rawkin Radio

Former fitness model and reflexologist emailed me with these words: "YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION! Hello my name is Andrea Cox I am owner of www.thehealthyhaven.net I am a 32 year old 100%RAW VEGAN trying to get the word out! After years of being on a high protein low carb nightmare of a diet...being a fitness model/covergirl/and supplement spokes model, I QUIT AND WENT RAW! I wanted to let you know you have inspired me to stay the course! You make me want my own radio show!"

Besides flattering me which, of course, brings out the best in me, I chose to have her on because I felt many could relate to her story. Previous to the interview we spoke on the phone and she was feeling unwelcome at relatives homes because of her food choices. As a fitness model, she, as many models do, went through a variety of changes with her diet. Please listen in.

Brenda Cobb of the Living Foods Institute is back with another great interview. We talk about what she's been doing, what she's going to do; cancer, health, healing, how to get one's weight up on raw food, and so much more! She even gives a few recipes which led to Revvell wondering how it is she doesn't have Brenda's books. Listen to the outcome of that question on this latest Rawkin Radio!!!

On this program, Revvell interviews Wyn and Cynthia Waring Matthews about their journey to raw and how The Raw Retreat came to be. Their journeys are ones of courage, strength and passion for life and health which they bring to others who share in their retreats. During his journey, Wyn healed himself of prostate cancer and Cynthia got herself off thyroid and hormone medication. Be sure to listen in.

Addendum: I also interview Cynthia alone about her book and life's purpose on Celebrating Your Potential (http://podcast.Revvell.com).

Before and after....

As Alissa has chosen to leave Rawkin' Radio to pursue her dreams, I'm exploring ways to keep Rawkin' Radio going. In this episode, I get the opportunity to interview Brenda Cobb, founder and director of The Living Foods Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. Brenda was diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer and chose to go a different route than normally suggested by those practicing allopathic methods. In this interview we find out why and what the results are. We also talk about menstruation/menopause, water, supplements, detoxification and her 10-day program. We had such a good time, I've invited Brenda back in November for another go-round. BTW, please check out her site: www.livingfoodsinstitute.com/ and/or contact Brenda about scholarship possibilities if looking to attend her 10-day program. Please tell her you heard it here.

Revvell and co-host Cherie, The Keeper of the Forest on RawFoodTalk.com talk about organic vs. non-organic, vs. "superfoods" then answer emails from our listeners. Topics which came up are people stressing out about cashews, nutritional yeast, nama shoyu, wild rice, etc. Another listener asks about beans, potatoes and peanuts. Our answers can be found by listening to.. Rawkin' Radio Number 28!
