Musings of a Bewildered Mind

I hope all of my Tribe friends have a wonderful Merry Christmas!! And a very Happy New Year!!

My brother made it home with his new girlfriend (fiance to be??? <fingers crossed> I like her) - they're made in heaven - 2 northern hippies :)

And friends from distant lands are home for a bit, so it's bound to be a good holiday :) :) :)

Hope yours is great too!!

Much love,
Zoe

about me
Methinks I was born in the wrong time.

Like: People who are honest - but can at least be diplomatic about it. People who don't mind when I get quiet and have no qualms about egging me into letting the ornery little sprite to come out.

Dislike: People who are mean and bitter just because they can. You know who you are. And those who like to psycho-analyze you and ALWAYS have it wrong...they just try to make you fit into an "easy to explain box." I don't want to live in a little labeled box. No.

Favorite Letter: Z (mad props to all those Slavic languages out there that are rife with Zs).

I'm in the SCA. I cook, I sew garb. I've started exploring cross-stitch again. I'm a 10th/11th C Byzantine who is meandering through Europe trying to find a place to call home...as if I could ever stop wandering(funny that I actually bought a house in mundane-land -- and it's driving me crazy!!).

I share my little house with a former stray sheprador named Abi and four 2 year oldish cats named Luna, Jinxie, Fozzie and Peanut. All rescues of one sort or another. I guess I'm a sucker for a homeless furry face.

I used to be an avid painter. Landscapes and trees. And I once freaked my art class in high school by painting a very gloomy seascape of a sinking boat in a terrible storm. I did not go to art school because that's pretty much what eveyone else thought I should do. There are certain parts of being stubborn and willful that end up biting you on the ass.

I like to buy good fabric and make pretty medieval clothes out of it....I think I have a problem since I currently have more fabric than I can shake a yardstick at.

Watching kung-fu movies is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Spring and Fall are the best times of the year.

Danced Classical Russian Ballet for something like 9 years. Had plans of dancing with ABT and had 2 universities chosen to further my dance education when my knee went to crap when I was 17. Layman'd terms: the goo that keeps the patella from rubbing against your leg bones is slowly disintegrating and is causing bone spliners and such. Majored in English Lit (after changing my major 7 times in 2 years). After years of yoga and not dancing, my knee (miraculously) is pretty much fine except for when a big snowstorm or a sudden change in weather is nigh.

I like to read dictionaries. And thesauri. For fun.

I love the smell of woodsmoke, burning leaves in the fall, and good pipe smoke.
Men smell nice sometimes too - when they try ;)

Not real big on the smell of cigars. Although I have this tea that kind of smells like a GOOD cigar. Weird.

Some chick's do like anime and comic books. And kung fu.

And I have just been informed that I am a nerd. But a cool nerd.
