Jungle-wise. The man is more jungle- wise than any man you’ll ever meet. (and it feels good to call him “man”.) But he is in a jungle-wise way, be careful, he might give birth to an emerald tree snake right there on your lap when you just thought you were having a good time and all of a sudden there’s something lime-green, with a viperous diamond-shaped head, writhing, wriggling there between your legs, creeping up to your gut, heading to your heart to lick it clean of your own urban jungle film. Ferocious and intense. If you don’t mean it and aren’t up to it, don’t do it.

I am a scientist, trained to be very objective and a keen observer. I was sent to the Ecuadorian Amazon to study the population dynamics of butterflies both in the canopy and understory. In reality my study went beyond that as i spent three years living among the quichua people, in a cultural and social vaccum. I learned to step back and be able to see the bigger picture in order to get a better feel for the rainforest. My alter ego superbeast, was a by product of the meltdown/fusion of jungle and my city sides that finally came together on the night of my very first Burning Man. It was literally a fresh breath of life for it gave me hope, we still have a fighting chance to turn this around. I a currently doing "the great call home" and have taken time off life to make amends with my family from whom in my travels have drifted from.

Yeah, I guess it officially ended this weekend as we went to the site sign off and made sure we finished up with all the cleaning. It was a nice change seeing everyone still tired but not cracked out loading the truck, mooping all over the place. Many thanks to all that attended this past weekend. What I liked about this year was the new faces stepping right up and knocking it out off the ballpark, no need to tax our weathered friends in our family. I saw a lot of the people... read more
