ABOUT MORIA:
Morias enigmatic stage presence is born from a history of training in San Francisco bellydance
technique that combines the Salimpour method, stylization from The Indigo, and Fat Chance
posturing. Remembering her mothers early practice of bellydance, her fathers study of yoga, and
from what later became a background of classical dance and theatre in her youth, Moria was moved to
exclusively study bellydance after graduating Magne Cum Laude from the University of California,
Irvine. Inspired by the spirit of bellydance as it allows for the organic and gypsy nature of life
to move serpentine through space, her personal fusion of circus art, theatre make-up, and rich
costuming brings a grace and elegance to tribal bellydance that evokes the majestic. She has
performed music and dance in collaboration with Suhaila and Jamilla Salimpour via Bal Anat and The
Suhaila Dance Company; with Ziah Ali via Awalim; and currently with Rachel Brice and Sharon Kihara
via The Bellydance Superstars. Moria performs and teaches internationally and is well loved within
the bellydance community and beyond.

There will be a variety of merchandise available for purchase at the workshop including apparel,
jewelry, DVDs and CDs.

OVER 10 HOURS OF BELLYDANCE
INSTRUCTION!

Bellydance Burn: This workout focuses strengthening and toning the muscles used in bellydancing without the use of weights or gym equipment.
Intro to Veils and Cane Dancing: This section teaches veil and cane movements and technique. You will learn traditional Saiidi steps and technique as well as learning how to use a veil effectively.
Layering: Learn the technique of layering two or more bellydance movements together seamlessly.
Spins, Turns, and Moving with Zills: There will be a focus on refining traveling movements like spins and turns. In this section, you will also become more comfortable playing the finger cymbals (zills) and moving simultaneously.
Boot Camp Drills: Feel the burn in this section, where key bellydance movements will be drilled in to the muscle memory.
Cardio Bellydance: Work up a sweat with a short cardio dance routine comprised entirely of bellydancing movements. No dancing experience necessary, all levels welcome!
Gooey, Snaky Tribal: The perfect section for Rachel Brice fanatics! Learn how to obtain that snaky carriage, gooey arms, and how to incorporate a "boneless"-like quality to your dancing.
Popping and Locking: This section focuses on developing crisp movements, hits, stops, and getting a breakdance-like quality to your dancing.
Yogalates-Chi for Bellydancers: A combination of yoga, pilates, and tai chi to strengthen and lengthen the muscles, targeting key muscles used in bellydancing.

I was born, I dance, someday I will die.

I'm currently a full time student at Truman State University living with my husband and 17 month old son, Bradley. In August 2007 I opened up a dance/yoga studio (Fitness Fusion) and I'm teaching there in the evenings. I also teach bellydance for USMED- a Middle Eastern dance organization at TSU which I started in 2006 and am president of. ... I'm basically a crazy person who is always busy, but it's okay...I like it that way.
