Well, ok, it's hard to top that one Steve. At least I get to claim the pleasure of watching this Stellar Man blossom daily.
Tim gives GREAT HUG!!!
That little dimple by his mouth usually shows up when wicked thoughts flash across his mind, which usually means you are in for a treat.
I am so far head over heels that there is no turning back, ever, he IS that man behind the curtain!

I'm proud Tim is my father.
He's intelligent, interesting, and inventive. He's capable of making interesting gadgets you'd probably never thought possible. (Who would have thought you could actually make a burning bush that speaks?)
He's charming, good-looking, and generally well liked. (While this may be unimportant to some folks, I did get half my good looks from him. I also attribute much of my own charm and good manners to his positive example.)
He's been in the computer industry basically since the beginning. Had he been in California earlier in his career, and not the Indiana/Ohio area his early adoption would likely have been better compensated. His knowledge is vast.
I owe my own early adoption of computers -- and even my use of Linux -- on his help, assistance, and support.
He's imaginative and creative. He leverages his technical skills to make some really great art. His work has for many years now had a prominent place on the playa at Burning Man. (And everyone that goes to Burning Man is familiar with his L2K or L3K projects.)
While I may be totally biased. Personally, I think the greatness of this man is self-evident once you get to know him.

What can I say, but wow, I have only met this gentleman last week and my life expanded thousandfold.
On so many levels we clicked right away. So much to talk about and share, this will go on for a very long time indeed.
Next week I get to hug him for the first time, eagerly counting down the days. His voice is divine and soothing as well.

Five Centers
Human live has five Centers. These are like points of gravity that form our connections to earth and all life on her. Each is a blessing when in balance with the others. Any one can be a curse if it comes to rule your life.
ROOT
You are an animal body. You have drives to eat, be safe, defend territory and breed. This you have in common with all life on earth. You need not be ashamed or afraid of this, it is your most basic heritage. Respect and care for your Root and do not let it run your life.
HEART
You are a Mammal. You have drives to know your place in the pack, to run with the herd, to protect your kin and children. You want to know your own tribe and to fear outsiders. You need not be ashamed or afraid of this, it is your Mammal heritage. Respect and care for your Heart and do not let it run your life.
MIND
You are a Human. You tell stories to understand the world. Stories get retold and gain power with age. These stories may become territory that your Root will kill to defend. These stories may define your tribe and kin that your Heart will kill to defend. Remember that your world is defined by your stories. Your personal limits and goals are created by your stories. Remember that they are just stories. Remember that stories can be edited. We must have stories to understand each other, but do not let your stories run your life.
ART
You are a creator. You will seek to create expressions of yourself in diverse ways, even if you do not know this yet. Your creations serve to unify and display the complexity of your individual experience. Creation serves the deep needs of your Root, Heart, and Mind. Remember that this too can become a trap if it runs your life.
SPIRIT
You are deeply connected to all things. The elements of your body were born in the explosions of stars. Your DNA has evolved over billions of years, along with all other life on earth. You are more than this. Your Heart and your Mind tie you to others, and you are more than this. Spirit is the realm of mystery, because we simply cannot understand the interconnectedness of everything on any other level. If Spirit runs your life, you may make a good monk, but you will be less than a complete person.
----
To be a whole person is to balance these five centers. To know that your tribe and kin are nothing less than all the life on earth. We are all children of the Earth. We are not just the top of the food chain, but an active part of the living planet. There are no gods out there to save us.
Saving us is our job. It's time to get good at it.
It was getting stupid windy as we were rolling through the MO / OK boarder region, so I stopped for the night, then I find I was a little more than an hour behind a tornado that killed 11 people very close to the place we just drove through. The storm is east of us now and still moving east, it looks to be moving north enough to miss hitting home, and moving fast enough that we will hit nothing but some rain as we close in on home tomorrow.
Odd thing is that yesterday we had some confusio...

I'm sitting in Bman HQ, waiting for Crimson to have a few moments to talk about L3K. There is such a focused vibe here, with the minutia of the event floating around, the millions of little details that lead to a week in the desert. HQ is full of art, dogs, kids, more art, and all the expected office items. Very much a Mac shop, with the server area and tech team having a large percentage of the office space. I intend to pick up my team tickets and the expense money. more later...

Yesterday was mixed for me, I meet people I needed to meet, including my main client and a investor of his. I enjoyed looking around and had some fun interaction with people showing the project. Some bozo grabbed one of the telescopes and dropped it on the floor. It's all busted up now, broken glass and part of the body cracked. O-well All four survived a week on the playa, One day in the Maker fair and one down.

The faire is over now, all that is left to get the Stars off the ceiling,...

The water line got fixed, Everything is up and running. The fair is filling up with people. They estimate 70,000 will pass through this weekend.
The peddle powered bus just drove by, video crews are on the prowl, and it's a beautiful day.
The dark room now has 5 Telsla coils, it's so noisy in there that My little project is useless. You can't hear anything. If it goes like most of these things, the coils will start burning out in a few hours and tonight or tomorrow it may get quiet eno...

Rule one, test everything, then test it all again. I violated my own rule and assumed that the batteries I nad not used were still good. Not so much. I have four of the noisy stars mounted and working, but all the others had dead batteries. Indigo is off on a mission to find screw top 6 volt batteries. We found them some distance away, but she is on the way back now and all will be fine.
I'm sitting outside because a Tesla coil guy blew out the wireless node inside the hall. There is a lo...
