My Recent Activity

Art of Strength (blog entry) I've been involved in a program at my gym for 5-6 weeks based on the Art of Strength program. It involves using kettle bells, huge ropes, and other somewhat non-traditional equipment and exercises. I can tell a huge difference in my core strengt... read more

I think I'm going to cry.... (blog entry) I'm trying to bury my head in the sand and not think about it....the carpenter/contractor (who is a friend of ours) just came by and looked at the house. Yea! I'm All better.... (blog entry) Three years ago, I had a procedure called an RFTC (rhizotomy) of the cervical facet joints c2-c6. Following 3 car wrecks (not my fault), a fall off a trampoline and a crash into a gym wall in high school, I was left with a neck that has aged much... read more

My Blog

I've been involved in a program at my gym for 5-6 weeks based on the Art of Strength program. It involves using kettle bells, huge ropes, and other somewhat non-traditional equipment and exercises. I can tell a huge difference in my core strength and stability and my endurance. And I'm loving the challenge! Highly recommend it!

I'm trying to bury my head in the sand and not think about it....the carpenter/contractor (who is a friend of ours) just came by and looked at the house. The wall where the tree landed had "accordian-folded" - it has waves all the way down. Our house is pier and beam rather than slab, so they are going to cut a hole in the brick on that side and go underneath to see how much structural damage has been done there. The kitchen cabinets go around to that wall and will all have to be taken dow... read more

I just HAVE to vent!!!! Why do some people have to be SOOOO negative? It seems like I am surrounded by negativity all the time lately - at work, at dance class.....I can't get away from the constant complaints. Surely they could find just one little thing to be happy about - thankful for their health, their kids, whatever...... I'm not a Pollyanna, but I do try to maintain a positive attitude--- but it's not working;-(

Three years ago, I had a procedure called an RFTC (rhizotomy) of the cervical facet joints c2-c6. Following 3 car wrecks (not my fault), a fall off a trampoline and a crash into a gym wall in high school, I was left with a neck that has aged much faster than the rest of me - degenerative discs, cervical facet arthrosis, bulging discs, etc... I had already had c5/6 fused and was still having some severe pain issues - headaches, neck pain, and left shoulder numbness. The RFTC gave me freedom ... read more
