cat dissection
We're in the process of dissecting a cat for my *human* anatomy & physiology class. Although I'm handling this better than I thought that I would, it is still challenging on several levels given that I'm a vegetarian, that I view my pet as a member of my family and also because the poor kitty was pregnant with several babies when it died. We just looked at human models of different organs and systems last semester, which I prefer because it helped me to learn *human* anatomy better, which is what we're there to learn in the first place.

'Po Possums
Where did I go wrong with my Boo dog? She caught and killed not one, not two, not three but FOUR baby possums in the last few days. This is aftter treeing what was presumably the big mamma possum a few days ago. Maybe I should check the protein content in her dog food.... Or Nutro should make a "Possum and Rice " blend.
Mushrooms maximus
Shroomies are popping up everywhere over the last few days of all sorts, types and varieties. Blue, red, white, slimy, delightful and frightful. I even saw the mothership mushroom today that was almost a foot tall and white -- I kid you not. If you're into mushrooms get thee to the woods and check it out. Bent Creek is full of them right now.
