Liars?

An interesting article on honesty....

www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/...rs/index.html

Another article I read in Readers Digest quoted Dr Warren (the guy who founded e-Harmony) as saying the biggest reason of failure of marriages is that we are too tolerant of dis-honesty in relationships.

Kick 'em to the curb if they lie? or?

what is your position?

One important thing- honesty
I can not stand dishonesty. Reason my marriage ended among other things. Honesty is of learning to trust someone. Also communicating is a big thing, if you don't have those 2, I doubt any relationship will hold.

I'm a grown up, if someone feels like they need to lie to me that means that there is something wrong with the dynamic and I'm not creating a safe place on my end to tell the truth. Doesn't mean that I'm in control of their lieing, but that's all I can do. Sometimes I wish people would lie to me, I get 'you're the only person I could be this honest with' and sometimes I am not in the mood to be an adult. I forgive everything but I've been lied to so much in my earlier years that I don't keep people around that aren't straight shooters. But,what the fuck do I know, I'm a spinster, maybe if I was more tolerant or less tolerant I would be out celebrating my 4th anniversary.

I love the incongruency of the quote about honesty coming from a founder of a online social/dating forum.

Kick them to the curb? .... nah.....

I think marriages fail because we forget to continue to grow and bring those experiences back to the marriage. Looking outside the relationship to find happiness or MORE DIFFERENT BETTER....not in another partner (at first) but just in every day stuff.
