Ran a 5K in Canton, Ma., this past weekend. Finished 5th overall in 20 minutes flat and won my age group. I know I shouldn't be greedy but I really wanted to finish under 20 minutes and I couldn't squeeze one more second out of myself. Grrr.

Very well-run race. Lots of water stops, roads were clearly marked and all the logistical elements (start, chutes, food/drink) went along smoothly. I'll do it again next year. Next one is later this month in Salem, Ma. I am the defending winner of my age group. Hope it's like last year (a raging nor'easter, 45 mph winds and a heavy mist).

I need to do more work on the track and I need a partner for that. Someone to get me inspired and keep me motivated.
