just in hibernation mode! I swear I'm turning into a bear - all I want to do is sleep and I waddle around now too. I don't see many people (including my hubby) and I'm due in LESS THAN 8 WEEKS! My Dr. won't let me go past the 41st week which puts us at the day after Chrismas...

And we still don't have a name yet...

Whew! I'm so tired but felt I was able to keep up for the most part and learned much! Love Mardi's style of teaching: little combos and then adding combos to combos and she's fun and a bit silly (not quite the right word). Going to try and decifer my notes and scour to find the music....

"we all know how great you are!" (sung to the tune of JC Superstar). Must be the full moon....

Anyway BDSS were fantabuouso as usual. I am so going to become a tribal grrrl... I want tats and piercings and long funky hair and..... oh ya, this is me we're talking about. I'm so mundane for a non-mundane! But I did finish me a new tribal belt, my second now, using yarns, ribbons, and some metal necklaces.. still need to add the bits and bobs to the fringe. I'll post picts later.

Bellyfit tomorrow then to Raks Rafiki so see Kasima teach 'Be the Boss of Your Veil' and then get my groove thing on. So Crimonsy: No dinner Friday but maybe Sat?

I HAVE THE POWER!!!

In Monroe! I always feel like I'm in the 'boonies' in Monroe, but we have power - where my parents in main Kirkland don't! So after getting up with my normal alarm and making it to a dark work, I left a message to have them call my cell if we got power and headed over to my mom's. I was to go over there anyway after work to help her price stuff for the Designer Disaster sale (which we found out later will be cancelled and re-scheduled for May), so we got alot done with the natural daylight, lanterns, and LED flashlights. We put her tree up, but without lights, since we couldn't test them. We got her sale inventory marked, but couldn't print out signs. Got some wood that had been from a cut up tree in the yard, but couldn't use it since it was too wet.

It just felt like a one step forward, one step back. But dad came home from work and we got them a nice fire going, had burgers off the BBQ, and just generally had a pleasant day. It was the longest I had spent with my mom at my old home in a long time and brought back great memories of getting out of the tub when I was younger and getting warm and dry by the fire. I don't know how I'll handle it when the builder they sold it to tears down the Kirkland house in Febuary. *sniff*

aaaah Bellydance Retreat....

I so needed that mini vacation! Just attended the Emerald Santuary Bellydance Retreat this last weekend and while I am tired from the events from the weekend, it is a good kind of tired. Though I had picked up a cold last week and was STILL getting over it during the trip, being in Eastern Washington 'desert' made it not as noticable. All that dry heat I think.

There was about 50 people (?) and about 10 workshops, as well as swimming, hiking (which I didn't really do because I forgot jeans and hiking shoes and really didn't want to go trapsing where rattlesnakes like to hang out), lots of dancing, and even some shopping! No s'mores though - burn ban with the high fire risk. But this is the sort of 'camping' I can handle... big kitchen with all the appliances and cookware, good showers w/ lots of hot water, inclosed cabins with AC, and lots of fellow dancing 'sisters' wanting to share technique and stories and just plain have fun!

Some quick memories: veil dancing with beachtowels at the lake parking lot, bhangra dancing gives you strong shoulders and thighs, tribal fusion - I WISH I HAD TOOK NOTES AND VIDEO!, hafla 'wow it's past midnight already?' and the bat getting stuck inside, 'Gotta dance, Gotta dance, got a chicken in my pants.....'

Sewing MADNESS!

So I've been sewing for like, a little less than 20 years (Yikes!) and this year, all of a sudden, it seems everyone has a sewing project they'd like to pay me to do. I'm not complaining but WOW! People keep telling me I should start a business but would the work keep coming, or because I don't have a business people see me as more approachable/ available?

Some of my projects and tenitive projects recently:
Custom totebag, altering drapes, making curtains, some harem pants and gwazee coat (Kristi did you need me to put on buttons for you?), about 5 summer 'rompers', purses for Glamchop.com, possible work for a friend of Glamchop, possible production of custom skirts, fixing a hipscarf, possible work for Silk Road, possibly some lettermans jackets (sewing on patches), and some custom clothing and pattern alterations!

Whew! And for myself, I keep trying to make my own things to sell but not finding the time!
