about me
I teach a beautiful, healthy, flowing, applied style of martial arts. Check my school out: www.sojamartialarts.com
My great passion is being a life coach that enables people to be the best at who they are using traditional, healthy, safe, fun and inspiring traditional martial arts exercises. When you train with me, my goal for you is to expand your physical and spiritual potential by addressing your own unique powers and limitations. I agree that every human being is beautiful in their uniqueness; and we'll make the most of this concept in my workouts. I started training White Crane Silat Kung Fu in New York in 1985, then moved to San Francisco where I became a certified trainer. I am also a beginning instructor in Bay Mountain Wing Tsun Kung Fu and love to train the following systems with people: Systema, Rene La Tosa Escrima, Saya Kali, Parcour, Traditional and non traditional Muay Thai, San Shou, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, American Boxing, Greco Roman Wrestling.....did I miss anything? :) Oh yes, East Coast Swing and hip hop...i.e., I love flowing movement..

I had a great weekend training with Vladimir Vasiliev, the chief instructor of the Systema system outside of Russia. They gave out wonderful and balletic practical self defense movements, as well as great knife fighting, breathing and pushup exercises. There must have been over 150 people participating, a supportive and mature crew of dedicated martial artists.

Yesterday was the 93rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by the Turkish Government in 1915. It is a difficult point of historical relevance to everybody (yes you too) that the Turkish government refuses to this day to accept the deliberate plan and implementation of Genocide, and the subsequent series of horrific events on and after April 24th, 1915, throughout the major towns and cities across the Turkish nation. Unfortunately, my family was directly and profoundly touched by this, both... read more

Hi fellow travelers...

I read an interesting article in the New Yorker magazine a couple of weeks ago which I'd like to share with you. For those interested in climbing over obstacles in their daily life, it's worth a read and some serious contemplation to apply the concepts to your own life struggles.

No Obstacles, Navigating the world by leaps and bounds.
