I'm an artist & jewelry designer living in Placitas, NM, just north of Albuquerque. I got into tribal bellydance in 2001, having never danced before. It keeps me young! By day I work at my home studio on paintings, drawings, and talismanic jewelry that's inspired by the desert I love. When I'm working at home, it's usually to the accompaniment of Steve Roach's profound soundscapes, or something like Calexico when I need to wake up. I'm not in love with the gallery/art marketing scene...it's more of a spiritual practice for me if you want to call it that. So I sell by word of mouth, out of my home at events like the Placitas Studio Tour in May, or the Placitas Holiday Show and Sale in Nov... I also make medicine bags from time to time, mostly for sale at Keshi up in Santa Fe. When I was fresh out of school I was a cover artist for Sci-Fi and Fantasy books--fun, got to meet some great people, but ultimately unrewarding.

I have a great husband, Michael, who's a satellite systems engineer, and a wonderful son, Max, who's interested in going into filmmaking, and two very silly cats, Dante and Kamikaze.

Otherwise, I love road trips to strange and remote places in our beautiful desert...Bisti, White Sands, Tucson's environs, Coyote Gulch in the Escalante. Within and throughout all this is my love for the spirit in all things, the "world behind the world". Hence my interest in things such as crystals and stones and the divine feminine. I'm working toward a practitioner's certification with Desert Alchemy flower essences, a wonderful company based in Tucson and which makes essences from our flowering desert plants. They're subtle but suprisingly powerful.
