Ahhh . . . cheap and dirty rental agreements. . . (blog entry) My turn to rant: So we have a pipe pouring bathtub water out under the house - seems like a problem, no? The landlord and his handy man show up and start cutting into the side of the house - sensibly, it seems, as there's no other way to get to ... read more

I just wanted to share a wonderfully articulate place out there: bravenewwhat.blogspot.com. It's a good read by an old friend of mine who I always t... read more

Please provide a subject. (blog entry) Like a swimmer treading water,
ballerina armour and
the dark sea lit up
gathering small creatures around her.

Tonight was a sweet mix of people

for an old and dear friend.

Suffice it ... read more

Pie-eyed (blog entry) The best pie I think I've ever tasted: Melanie's Pineapple Lemon Pie. Magnificent. Serve with a game of scrabble and sparkling cider, beside a roaring fire with firends you adore. . .

My Blog

My turn to rant: So we have a pipe pouring bathtub water out under the house - seems like a problem, no? After a few cuts and sledgehammer blows, out pours a stream of flashing little chipits of weirdness. Possibly asbestos, is my first thought. They both hum and haw and the handyman mutters about how "it might not be healthy" and then the... read more

Suffice it to say
I miss you all
when you're not around
and love you best
around a groaning table
beneath the full moon rising.

(Need I mention:
I miss you when you've gone.

So stay with me
on this thin raft,

shaking and breaking

Did Shelley's ship sail bold into the storm, the poet standing aloft and daring the wild to come and get him? Did he drown that night with his friends, stark-eyed and longing to swallow the sea whole? He did indeed, in full command of his vessel and not yet middle-aged.

Perched on the abyss of another hissing year slid by, I feel time crinkle like the salt-hard sails of a dry-docked boat, listing seaward.

Is the hull still sound? Are all the repairs made? Are my ribs still sound e... read more
