The Litany Against Fear

"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain"

Hello Owl, it is good to have you as a friend. It would be a more forbidding place without you around. Your knowledge that you share with us, your way of being and your presence. I am completely comfortable with your energies for they are Familar to me.

Thank you, bard

The owl's flight is silent. Owl is the keeper of Moonlight Vision and those who honor the owl come to understand magic, wisdom, the mysteries and powers of the night. The Celtic Shaman holds the owl in high regard, recogizing the owl as a magical bird who brings visions, inner knowing and acceptance. The owl's medicine is knowledge of the soul.

Owl Messages

I used to come here
almost everyday last winter.......
it was a lifeline in many ways.
As I looked for things for owl to post,
I learned many things about owls
and myself and met interesting people
here on Tribe.
it helped my feelings of isolation
on my path of shadows.
I hope this winter brings more community
more shared warmth
and maybe a friend or two
that listen as well as they talk.

The owl’s song

The caress of solitude –
Is the gentle call of night and its serenade
Be it a cry haunting of melancholy
twilight is only as lonely as the accompany of our

Where I waved at the sky
And waited your love through a February sleep,
I saw birds swinging in, watched them multiply
Into a tree, weaving on a branch, cradling a keep
In the arms of April sprung from the south to occupy
This slow lap of land, like cogs of some balance wheel.
I saw them build the air, with that motion birds feel.

Where I wave at the sky
And understand love, knowing our August heat,
I see birds pulling past the dim frosted thigh
Of Autumn, unlatched from the nest,... read more

Compulsively Allergic to the Truth
by Jeffrey McDaniel

I'm sorry I was late.
I was pulled over by a cop
for driving blindfolded
with a raspberry-scented candle
flickering in my mouth.
I'm sorry I was late.
I was on my way
when I felt a plot
thickening in my arm.
I have a fear of heights.
Luckily the Earth
is on the second floor
of the universe.
I am not the egg man.
I am the owl
who just witnessed
another tree fall over
in the forest of your life.
I am your father

Owl says "Bring on the night. There is nothing to fear in the darkness."

Owl's acute night vision renders darkness powerless to hide secrets. Owl assists one in seeing past the illusions of shadows that are born from fear of the dark. Owl moves swiftly and silently through the night illuminating the beauty and wisdom that darkness contains within it, things that would be missed by those that suffer night blindness.

Owl illuminates the dark corners of self and others, it brings out the ... read more
