Today was very….hmmm, not even sure what it was, not happy, sad, or anything in between. Introspective might be the word I’m searching for. Anyway, I love my Second Life game that I play, (though the relationships I have formed there are not playing, but very genuine) so I spent a bit of time there today. While I was there I took some time to explore the loveliest of Sims all about Buddhism, very peaceful and beautiful. As I wandered about I started finding little sparkling gems tucked away here and there, easy to miss if you are in a hurry, but nice to stumble across if you take the time to truly enjoy the surroundings. With each gem you can click on it and it gives you a note card, each with words of wisdom, Buddhist teachings, and the like. It made me think about how everyday we walk through life and discover little gems of wisdom, though we may not know it, and in real life they are not encapsulated in sparkling gems to alert us to a lesson learned, sometimes they are disguised inside of bad things, like arguments, disagreements, or any number of other things. But gems they are just the same, ways for us all to learn, all to grow, from the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the exciting and the mundane, and on and on.
I am not perfect. None of us are, and we are not meant to be. But we can all strive to continue to learn and to grow, regardless of our missteps and imperfections, and to see the beauty in those times and places as well.
*sighs deeply*
A writer I am not, and it is almost 3 a.m. for me, but I’ve said what I’ve said, and it is what it is.
Warm, heartfelt wishes and hugs to all who read this….
