Is it possible to have a midlife crisis in your thirties?

I was just wondering...although a wise person told me recently that from crisis change & growth can occur. I've had a huge realization this week that I'm totally in the wrong job market. Its confusing because the restaurant business is the one thing I thought I understand better than anything. .. But who says I know everything, right?! Then I also realized I need to stay in this job for a while becase I need th emoney and benefits...I feel like such a sellout. Oh well, guess I need to work on my patience...and this crazy pain in my neck....

I know this made no sense to any of you, thats ok. If I explained it, the mass majority of you would think I needed to be locked up in a straight jacket. I just needed to vent. Off to see the 1st showing locally of Harry Potter. I promise to tell you nothing as to the actual content, only how excellent I expect it to be. ...And besides, most of you have already read the book anyway. I'm going prepared with one large box of tissues. I was a mess the last one and this is sure to be much more painful. Good night!

Do Your Part to Help Mama Earth...yet another easy way

If any of you are BGE customers it is now possible to purchase 100% clean energy in the form of wind power through BGE! This is a huge step in the right direction. Just log in to your BGE account. Click on energy choices, then choose electric, then participating electric suppliers. There are several companies listed. Click on the commerce energy link (out of CA). In the bottom right hand corner click on clear choice clean energy. Then follow instructions to register. It will give you the kilowatt hour cost.

You will still receive your bill from BGE. The difference now is you get to choose where all your energy comes from & what type. Before I could only buy wind power certificates. Now my house is 100% run on wind power. That is a ton of CO2 not enetering the atmosphere. People are worried about car emissions, which is important.....but the leading casue of CO2 emmissions is the energy coming from our houses. The united states is the 2nd producer of these emissions, #1 being Japan. Please do your part, we started this mess. We need to work on helping to reduce our impact so our kids will have a better world to grow up in!

Update: I'm a new auntie...again!

Update: I'm a new auntie...again!
Tal about a great Litha present! Jeanne is doing pretty well. They gave her hardcore anitbiotics as soon as they took out the little one, to get her health back up tp snuff. He is 5lbs 9oz and super tiny. He cried a lot and does not want to open his eyes! He also has a lot of dark hair. Its funny, Mom said Will came out looking like Eric, but she said this little guy really looked like me when I was first born.

Now he's breathing a bit fast so he's on a feeding tube to get some nourishment in him & help control is lungs. Other than the lung thing though he is doing fine. Unfortunately Jeanne hasn't seen him after holding him initially because she can't get out of bed to head to the nursery. He does not have a name yet, but it sounds like tit might be Blake. Will (his big brother) is protesting and wants the baby's name to be Toby. (We have no idea where this came from, but he's been saying it for 2 months).

Mom, Dad, Pam & I took Will to the zoo this afternoon. We had a blast. Will liked the Pandas & the hippos best, same as when I took him when he was one. He also loved the playful tiger cubs. I will post pics as soon as I can. It was a great day all around!

healthcare in this country is so messed up

so i'm visiting customer accounts with the person showing me the ropes and we go to this great little family run restaurant. its in a business district. A very tiny little asian woman greets us as we enter the door. She is one of the warmest people I have ever met. She is standing next to a very sick looking woman.

The rep I'm with introduces me to the sick woman, its the owner's sister. They came to this country about 10 years ago for a better life. They opened this great little place about 5 years ago. The donate all extra food to the homeless and they do so much more to help everyone in the community.

Its not a fancy or expensive place. they get by. So anyway, the sick woman more than just a little sick. She needs a kidney transplant. She had an incident last week where she collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital.

Like most independent restaurant owners starting out, she has no health insurance. For one night spent in the hospital they charged her $10,000. When she asked to be put on the transplant list to get a donor, They asked if she had insurance. when she answered no they would not even put her on the waiting list. Apparently it seems, that if you don't have health insurance in this country its ok to let a person die unecessarily.

This has just been getting to me all day. Many friends of mine, boyfriend included, do not have health insurance and I've seen how ugly just a simple infection can get because you can't afford drugs at $100 a pill to treat it. But when someone desperately needs help and they do so much for other people it just doesn't seem fair that they are not even given the opportunity to get the medical help they need. The whole family would have to scrape things together but its not like they are asking for a handout, they would pay for the transplant....but they aren't even being given the chance to because they don't have insurance. i just can't understand it....does anyone else see this as ridiculous? oh well...thats my rant for the day.

This is a first

Ok, bear with me, never "blogged" before. Well today was the first day of a new chapter in my life, a new job. It is th efirst time I can truly say in this lifetime that I know I won't have to be working for my family & dealing with all the things they don't want to. Its such a huge relief!

I'm finally free. It is so nice thinking about a future with evenings and weekends off. Getting to spend time with friends, instead of having to miss out on all the fun. I'm so excited, new year, new job and totally new & posituve energy. I am super happy and I just needed to shout it from the rooftops. I promise more sarcasm and wit next post.
