(in Tech Poi)
As far as I can tell...nobody :P If you look at the other places this thing is spammed (Art of Poi, etc), nobody is interested, and no individuals are owning up to being a part of this travesty. Derision runs rampant!

Re: Poi Spinning Plateau - break through tips?
(in Art of Poi)
A lot of people have given a lot of decent advice on this thread. However, Faye, you hit the nail on the head with your initial post. To advance your spinning, you need to stretch. Specifically, you need to either a) stretch your body or b) str...

7/28 at MIT - but where?
(in BU Spin Jam)
Towards the end of the most recent thread on new locations, it seemed to be the consensus that we'd be at MIT this evening.
Could somebody tell me/us where at MIT? Building/room/general location?
Just some help for those of us who don't have gr...

(in Off Topic WildFire)
Tim - while I am quite fond of you, and I really don't mean this personally, there is no evidence to support the "Rockefeller caused the depression" theory. There's a lot of wacko conspiracy *theories* about it, but no actual proof that this was ...

Re: Triple Composites.
(in Tech Poi)
Dude, I'd invested a bunch of cash in a theme camp. When they pulled the 21+ bullshit, I lost most of my college-age build crew. After that, I just didn't have the heart to drive all the way down from Boston for that kind of a festival. What ca...

Firefly 2008 - hell yeah! I just want to give a shout out to all of the amazing beautiful people and groups that made my weekend so memorable!
Sonic Beating - for hosting my 2 hour + DJ set on Friday night. Your camp, your crew - words fail me. You guys rock! I only wish that the rest of the weekend wasn't so crazy so I could have spent some more time with you guys. For those of you who ventured up into the muddy swamp, thank you so much for coming up and grooving to my beats!

Bigger, badder, and funkier, I, DJ Baz, have created, for your listening pleasure...
Space Hopper: A continuous DJ mix in honor of Firefly 2008!
It has a few of the tracks I plan on playing this weekend, plus a bunch of transitions and live remixes that I've been working on nailing these past few weeks. It's an eclectic combination of electro, breaks, psy, and a touch of house - but only where it does the most damage (he he he).
You can downloaded off of my myspace page - linked from www....

This week has been a flurry of ups and downs.
After months of being increasingly ill, I'm finally feeling better - pointing towards Lyme disease as the cause of all my distress (as that was the most recent thing I've been treated for).
After dropping my laptop at Wildfire (shudder), I just got it back from the repair shop and it's working as well as it ever has!
Now for the other side of the coin:
My living room window fell out of the sill during a thunderstorm, leaving a huge gaping or...

To all who have heard about the Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band's new circus production, Mischief In The Machine - which is tonight and this weekend, you should go (there are a lot of phenomenal performers and organizers involved in this production),
I was originally in this show playing "Post-apocalyptic Thug #2", but I had to drop out at the last minute due to severe illness (and repeated hospital stays). I'm home now, but I'm not to be up and about until the latest round of t...

...it's on Cape Cod. It's a cool little space - Pi Pizza Bistro ( www.pipizzabistro.com), and I'm there almost every Friday this summer!
The commute is a haul, but my parents have a beach house there and so I have crash space for my friends who are able to make it out.
The bad news is it's 95 minutes outside of Boston. The good news is that, for those who have a need to dance to funky electro and psychedelic breaks, its a hell of a lot closer than Philly! And if you get there before 10 PM...

Baz is truly a marvel. There has been much heralded of his phenomenal ability with poi, his dashing good looks, and debonair style and though these all conspire to contribute to the identity of Baz, I wish to speak here of the man himself.
He is thoughtful and cunning yet spontaneous and offhand with this air of roguish mystery that just rocks me to the core. He can devise ways to teach just about anything, and has bouts of mad genius that result in the most inspired and ludicrous ideas that make you both laugh and imagine at the same time.
He is also a brilliant performer with a talent for doing things to music that are completely unparalleled.
What can I say, the man is sharp as a tack.

Undoubtedly one of the best tech poi dancers in the world.

Baz is a truly unique cat (and that would be a black cat, prowling the alleyways...) who I have found so truly inspiring and wonderfully delightful in intelligent conversation.
He has inarguably good taste in food, drink AND, the most important, DESSERT!
I truly look forward to enjoying more encounters of the mind, poi, music, and more (dare I say?)DESSERT!
;-D
