last night i was woken up at about 2:30 in the morning to the sound of a couple screaming at each other, right outside my window. that was followed by crying on the girl's part, then what sounded like slapping, but i wasn't really sure what was going on. i could hear it all but couldn't process it, and was just incorporating the sounds into whatever dream i was having at the time. but when the girl yelled, "why did you hit me?!" i suddenly came to and realized what was happening.
