Not to be pigeon-holed, I'm full of contradictions. Chameleon-like I can blend in with the surroundings and be inconspicuous, or I can blaze forth in a fire of craziness at any moment. I play electric mandolin in a band that never leaves the basement, do the vocals because I'm the one with the balls, and write a song or two. I also have been a swordfighter for over 30 years, do fencing, and I operate a puppet theater that does rude and lewd medieval period puppet shows. I sail in the summer and watch the fire in the winter, and every August I live at Pennsic.

Lately I've been slipping away from the SCA. I've been doing all this for 37 years now and I've been there and done that. I've never gotten to where my fighting has recovered from the heart surgery and torn ACL, so I can get bored pretty easily at events, especially since my stomach also has gotten a bit iffy about drinking much and many of my friends are no longer active. Okay, too much in flux right now. New duties at work, extra expectations, band meltdown, friends kicking off, friend's lives melting down, love life in a train wreck, it's all there. Getting to where I'm feeling pretty assaulted and isolated by life. Just need something to hold onto. And I'm doing better than my friends are. Oh, well, just gotta hang in until the wind changes direction again.

Missed all my connections and it somehow doesn't seem quite right That the desert snow would make it go Harder on the turnaround But life isn't fair, it's just what's there At least that's what I've found. The plane was late from Phoenix, and we had to de-ice twice Because the rain and hail were falling somewhere So everybody was paying the price.
