Beautiful man! Thanks for sharing! I just got an email (signed up when I lived in Ireland) talking about the illumination of Cairn T at Knowth in Ireland on the equinox, this picture made me think of that. I went to the Irish one a couple of equinoxes and never got a clear morning! :) Aaaaah, Ireland.
Yeah, they reminded me of the Boyne Valley a b it. But the tunnels were wider & shorter & they were built with some really massive stones. Similar scale & feel all in all.
we nearly drove past. (They were hard to find anyway) because the new visitor center just looks like it's part of the industrial estate from outside.
The tombs themselves have been seriuosly rebuilt - as have those in the Boyne valley now but neverthe lewss were impressive. One has a fantastic corbelled dome. See out photos on Flickr here
