So I was sick Monday and Tuesday this week. I actually still feel pretty tired and sluggish and don't really want to do any work today, but oh well. I didn't think it would be a good idea to take another day off work just because I'm tired.

So yesterday I went to lunch with two guys from the city attorney's office. One of them was the actual city attorney, so someone with actual hiring decision-making power. And he paid for my lunch before I could offer to pay for myself. So I don't know if that means it was more like an interview or what. I mean, I'm sure he was making assessments about me while we were there talking, so I wore a suit and tried to say things that would make them like me better.

There's a law in Missouri that you can't put names in a published case if it might reveal the name of someone who was a victim of sexual assault. And generally we try to keep juvenile's names out of cases if it might hurt their reputation or whatever. And if it's a termination of parental rights case, we can't put the names in either. It has not been such a great few days. I sit here writing this having only had about four hours of sleep last night and I can barely keep my eyes open. So a few weeks back (or maybe it was longer, I forget) I blogged about how my friend Aaron at work asked me if I used to dislike this girl that used to work at the court and that's why I didn't eat lunch with them last year.
