Surgery (blog entry) Tomorrow I will be undergoing rotator cuff surgery. My rehab time will depend on what the doctor finds. The best scenerio is six weeks but it could be significantly longer. I just hope that I can perform in the studio's Xmas Hafla in December. ... read more

Wedding (blog entry) This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing my beautiful daughter marry a wonderful man. Everything was fabulous. This was such a great and warm moment in my life to experience. I will never forget the love that everyone shared during the event.

Ya Halla Y'all Survivor (blog entry) I made it through the wild weekend of Ya Halla Y'all. I was very proud to be a part of the performance of Sisterhood of Isis Thursday night. Although we didn't place, I was pleased with our overall performance. At the workshops, I enjoyed the c... read more

Scarborough Faire Rain & Mud (blog entry) Saturday was quite an experience at Scarborough Faire. It was the first time I performed in the rain. Trying to walk through the mud in the Faire in a 25 yard gypsy skirt was quite an ordeal. I thought that our "Skirt Dance" was going to turn ... read more

My Blog

As a result of my rotator cuff surgery, I've had to keep my arm in a sling for the past 3 weeks. Hopefully, I'll only have one week left in this contraption for daily use, but I'm not sure how long that I'll have to keep wearing it to sleep at night. I've tried to take a positive attitude by working on my "glute" exercises and tummy rolls - at least that's one way of trying to keep involved and active.

I just hope that I can perform in the studio's Xmas Hafla in December. It never seems that there is a "good" time to schedule surgery. I made it through the wild weekend of Ya Halla Y'all. I was very proud to be a part of the performance of Sisterhood of Isis Thursday night. Although we didn't place, I was pleased with our overall performance. At the workshops, I enjoyed the combos and choreographies of the instructors and got my butt kicked by Souhaila. The tribute to Jamila Salimpour Saturday night was extremely interesting and of course the Stars performances were awesome. Three performances Sunday night and now I c... read more

Saturday was quite an experience at Scarborough Faire. It was the first time I performed in the rain. Trying to walk through the mud in the Faire in a 25 yard gypsy skirt was quite an ordeal. I thought that our "Skirt Dance" was going to turn into a "mud sling" dance!!! I was amazed at the number of diehards that stayed after the storms hit.
