My Blog

“What the woman knows, she knows through her hands, her feet, her back curved, rocking on the earth.
The bird breaks the skin of the cherry open and drinks the red flowing juice. It spills onto the skin of the woman. Now she holds both the fruit and the bird in her hands. Her eyes still remain closed. She rocks back and forth, in place, a cradle to the world.
Elemental pleasures. Rest in motion. Breathing. Let me go where I have not yet been.” (Terry Tempest Williams, Leap)

Cold.
Cold beyond snow and ice and falling mercury.
Cold beyond the absolute zero of outer space.
Cold pulverizing her into nothingness.
Cold and pain.
She struggled.
You are not to X me,Echthroi. I fill you.
Cold.
Darkness.
Emptiness.
Nothing.
Naught.

She cried out, “I hold you! I love you, I Name you. I Name you Echthroi. You are not nothing. You are.”

A small white feather which was not a feather floated through the cold…

As I was sitting in the midst of a green green morning this week, sipping my tea, wishing I could dissolve into the glow of it all, it occurred to me I’d soon be looking out of my eyes from a very different vantage point/stance. That the structure (my job of almost 20 years) around which most of my daily activities revolve would be gone. I felt a little swoop in my belly at that, a little wave of dizziness almost. Like falling into emptiness. Not really even being able to imagine it. But one ... read more

This week I”m going to do something a little different here. Robert Thompson, the author of “AVoluptuous God” has asked me to do guest posts from time to time on his blog. I enjoyed his book so much that I am really excited to be a part of his ongoing conversation there. So when I do my post there I will link to it here instead of posting here. I hope if you have comments you will leave them there.
Hope you enjoy it as well as the rest of Bob’s site!

“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor
fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance
is,
But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity,
Where past and future are gathered. Neither movement
from nor towards,
Neither ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still
point,
There would be no dance, and there is ony the dance…

Time past and time future
Allow but a little consciousness.
To be conscious is not to be in tim... read more

My Testimonials

March 23, 2008
Out of the more than 1,000 members of my Tribe I have but a handful of lady friends.

Ellie is a wonderful woman.

Eventually I will get to DC and we shall ride the Metro together and hear the voice say "Foggy Bottom"...

She is kind, caring, and I am truly blessed to count her among my friends.

Thank you for being here with me dear lady.

Peace

Namaste’

Miss Ellie reserves the right to bitchslap any and all those that defy logical thinking or otherwise just making a scene that displays the holier than thou and you will do what I say attitude. Said person also reserves the rights to loving show her heart to others and others loving her back Open arms open hearts and Open minds need only to apply. or just talk to her.

She is a special friend that no matter what others busily spread about her . She holds her head high and is a blessing to all those that know her .

Ellie has the unique gift to see beyond the visible,- its like looking through one of those kaleidoscope lenses, where you know what you are looking at is something you thought you knew already, but now you see it quite differently, and with an air of magic. Spend some time reading her entries on her site, or browse over her stunning photos, and you will know what I mean.

Thank you for letting me see things with mystery. jana

From Bishop Timothy Price:

Thank You For Being A Friend
( Andrew Gold )

Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down a road and back again
Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend

If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a Cadillac
Whatever you need any time of the day or night

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear even though it's hard to hear
I will stand real close and say
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend

And when we die
And float away
Into the night
The milky way
You'll hear me call
As we ascend
I'll say your name
Then once again

Thank you for being a friend
