I finally picked up my diploma today. I graduated in August. I didn't go to graduation or anything because it seemed kind of dumb.

I was surprised to see that apparently I graduated "magna cum laude." It seems pretty cool, but if I'm not going to graduate school then it's really not worth much, other than the ability to brag about it here. So, there you go. If that's the end of my academic career then I busted my ass for virtually no reason that I can think of, so I should probably at least call my mom and tell her.

My hand still hurts. I went to the doctor today. She said there's nothing they can do for me, aside from giving me a fancy brace festooned with velco. She says I have to just refrain from using it. That should be interesting.

I really wished she would have just given me a shot of morphine or something. I mean, there's got to be some means of providing temporary relief other than just advil. Don't they give people cortisone for this kind of shit? I'm going to go to another doctor next week, a guy who supposedly doles out prescription drugs with very little coercion. So maybe he'll have something special for me. Let's hope so. I have Christmas-related tasks that must be done, and all will require full range of motion from my thumb.
