Just another day in paradise. Come on in

Welcome to my humble abode. Glad you could stop by. I should be back soon, but in the mean time, there's a key in the planter, Pina Coladas in the freezer, oh, and yep, that's Jimmy Buffet in the pool, and yeah, he's naked again. Take your shoes off, and anything else you'll feel adventurous without, and make yourself comfortable. Be aware however, lately I've been coming home very drunk and very horny. Hope to see you soon.

Who, me?

about me
General Stuff: I'm college educated and employed. I've lived all over the country and I've done a little international traveling. I'm in excellent health and decent shape and I'm an above average skier. I live in a beachfront condo on Belleair Beach until the end of the year. I'm on the first floor and my sliding glass doors face the water. The sand and the sea are literally my back yard. Most evenings I pour a glass of wine and share a toast with my neighbors as we watch the sunset from our patios, and I wake to a million glistening points of sunlight dancing, each on its own wave crest, every morning through my bedroom window. I listen to Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley and Dave Mathews and Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow and Pheobe Snow among others, and it's likely that Guitar Hero was left on from last night's jam session with some of the neighbors. I like going out, but if you prefer, I love staying in.

Personal Stuff: I'm a few months out of a marriage that really ended about 3 years ago. I have a 12 year old son who rides the train between his mother's house and mine. We adopted him from an orphanage in a little Russian town near the Arctic Circle called Kazan, when he was 4 years old. He's my hero, and I do my best to be his hero too. I believe in science and metaphysics, not theology. I believe in common sense and the golden rule, and my parents taught me to be polite and respectful towards a lady, though I'm not always as good at that as I could be.

ravings of a madman

What is this institution called capitalism? And what advantages does it bestow upon you, and others like you working in it, such that you are a class apart with advantages to defend and enlarge? And when did these advantages become more valuable than the lives and liberties and the pursuit of happiness by all people?
