about me
I am a gypsy of sorts. I live in a long skinny bus with my long skinny husband and our long skinny kitty. We've been all over the place this past year. We're both artists of many different trades. I am a student, teacher, and performer of tribal fusion belly dance. I've been dancing in some form for at least 20 years, and belly dancing for 8 of them. I take workshops when and where and as often as I can. I currently live and teach in Wickenburg AZ at In Step School of Dance. I dance every day. I'm one of those you see sort of dancing to herself without even realizing it.
I also engage in most of the above mentioned interests, some more than others.
I'm studying to be a doula, and developing a deeper interest in holistic well-woman care every day.

My Blog

Hi everybody.
I was very dismayed to receive a call from Village camp ground in Sebastopol a few days ago, saying that they are not going to open the park this year. We have a 35' vintage school bus that is clean and in no way an eye sore. No hotels in Sebastopol would let us park it, and even if they did... read more

I've been nursing this apprehension about performing for my fellow belly dancers, since it's been a few years since I had the opportunity. The last time I did any serious performance for other belly dancers was when I was still dancing Cabaret and Raqs Sharqi styles. I've been working in fusion for almost 5 years now, teaching and performing for two, but I've mostly performed for what Amy Sigil would call "mundanes".
So, I had a major experience performing for mundanes at this local festiva... read more

I re-read the Temple of my Familiar by Alice Walker recently, it keeps getting better each time. Here is my favorite part. I hope it inspires you all as much as it has moved an inspired me. Many Blessings to you all in 2009.
