From the first time I saw Delilah and her dance group in the Fremont Solstice Parade I've wanted to start belly dancing. I joined later in the summer that I saw them ('05) and have now been dancing for nearly three years. I have studied with the lovely ladies Delilah and Dahlia Moon, who have taught me more than I could have imagined and now, after a brief brush with the Suhaila School, and studying with the amazing Amina Goodyear!
I'm about four weeks in to college now, and I feel horrible because I've only practiced a handful of times. If you know me, you know this is definitely an unusual situation, and if you know me well enough you would probably think I was out of my mind or something. The problems are small, little overlapping minutes, or neighborhoods, or details that make it impossible for me to get to any dance classes. Well, it would appear I'm at college now. The first week has gone by now, so things are pretty calm at this point, and everyone is starting to settle into a routine after going through orientation, registration for classes, and of course Labor Day weekend. I got into all of my classes, so now I'm studying modern dance, somatic arts, women's studies, international relations of the Middle East, and Arabic. A couple of years ago at 15 years of age, Nicole saw us dance in the Fremont Solstice Parade. She made it her goal to learn to belly dance and be with us by the next year . She accomplished this goal as well as perform in our Garden of Allah; Aroma Therapy shows.

She has been dancing professionally ate Takis Mad Greek and Costa' s Opah and teaching a group of gals at her high school! Everyone at VDP Studio's in Fremont neighborhood is extremely proud of her!
