Yesterday I went to the Rocks with Mum and Dad. I had such a great day out! You can have a peek at my album to see what mischief I got up to =) I love that part of Sydney. It's just beautiful and always brings back happy memories... I thoroughly enjoyed my giant strawberries hand-dipped in chocolate! Oh and we popped into Fiji Market on the way home and I bought 12 Indian cd's =) Some great Bollywood music for my babies at work to bop along to =) By the end of the week I think I'll have them all doing neck slides along to the music.. hehe

Peats Ridge 2006/2007

It's been a while since I've posted anything and loads of things have been happening, it's just I've been lazy. Last weekend I went up to Peats Ridge for the festival that ran over new years. I was asked to perform with Percussion Junction on new years eve. It was a great festival. A little annoying at times because it felt as though no-one could give you an answer but the rest of the time was great fun! I had the best New Years Eve ever!! Me, Mic and George went "into town" (aka main festival area) and went "clubbing" through all the tents. I stayed in my tribal gear and added a bunch of glow sticks to my costume and in my hair. I already think this is going to be a good year.... 1. George lost his wallet on the grass in the dark and we found it 30 min later after we had been dancing all over the festival and 2. Byron lost his keys, new camera and torch in the campsite in the dark and they all got found! That's lucky! Here's a photo of Matty and I gettin' silly New Years Eve!

Jewels Of The Harem held its end of year concerts today and tonight at City Diggers. It was a great night!!! I've been sick for 3 days, sleeping in bed non stop. I built up enough energy to perform in 3 Tribal Jewels dances and one JenTara performance. Once I got into it, I found a boost of energy but now I'm just feeling crappy again... bleeeehhhh! Anyway, Enjoy some of the photos from the night in my album =)

I've spent the past 3 days laying in bed, sick =( I got some virus.... really sore throat, coughing, low energy, sore muscles... just yuck! I got tired of laying in bed last night I forced myself to get out and move around. So I decorated the Christmas Tree! Mick watched and tried to encourage me to be stupid and put all the gold balls in one big clump and all the red balls in another big heap in another area..... Instead, when I had finished decorating and realised I had more decorations left over than I needed, I got Mic to help me decorate the rest of the loungeroom... tee hee hee. 5 years since I left Highschool!

I went out for dinner last night with a bunch of friends from highschool. One or two of them I haven't seen in years. It was cool to catch up, and amazing to hear about what others from school are up to now. Finding out who's married, who's had children etc... It's funny to think that I look at myself being the same age as these people I went to school with and not seeing myself anywhere near where they are in their lives in terms of the marriage and children thing. Anyway... I finished the night early :-( I havent been very well lately and was lacking energy... I think I havent had enough chocolate. Oh and last night was the Santa pub crawl through Wollongong. Everywhere you turned there were groups of people dressed in santa costumes going from place to place. hehehe.

The night rocked!! So much good music to boogie to. I spent a fair amount of the night listening to it from backstage as I was getting ready, but it still sounded great!! I had so much fun with Percussion Junction and Jas on stage!! It was a really nice stage to dance on too. Great amount of space, good floor, lights weren't too hot. =) Here's a pic of the finale.. and some more in my album if you wanna see some of the fun that was had =)

I'm so excited! Tonight Percussion Junction are supporting legendary UK DJ / Producer / percussionist TALVIN SINGH and I'm gonna be making a guest appearance on stage with them! =) It's going to be awesome!!! Groovelands Sound System featuring Ben Walsh and Bobby Singh (The Bird, Dha, Circle of Rythmn), Bentley and Stuart Buchanan are also playing tonight! Anyone coming along?? See you there if you are!

Weekend with Rachel Brice!!!!

She is just amazing! I absolutely adore her! I had the best weekend in the Blue Mountains with some of my best friends. Although we were in agony alot of the time, it was still alot of fun! =) Rachel worked us really hard and I don't think I got myself prepared properly for what she was going to teach us. My aim was to start training more before the workshop came around so I could handle it better. But work committments didn't make that an easy aim. =S I took a heap of photos last night when she performed for us! It was such a relaxing night. We got to jam with Rachel along to some live drumming from the guys! My brother being one of them, taking the skin off his finger he was drumming so furiously! hee hee. He'll have reminders about last night all week till it heals. I found myself thinking all weekend, "I wanna go learn from Rachel in America!!!!!". How to make that happen..... ...maybe I can just dream about it.

Australian Idol - Disco Inferno Night!!!!

I'm soooooo excited! I won tickets to tonights Australian Idol show... it's DISCO night! And we're gonna be in the audience! Woo-hoo. I've always wanted to go to at least one live show. And I get to see all my fav's in idol before they get the boot. How cool. If you watch it.. keep an eye out for me, mick, sharmy and my mum. We won't be holding any posters =( But we will have massive grins on our faces =)

UOW Annual Dinner - James Bond 007

Uni had their annual dinner the other week, the theme..... James Bond 007! Kids Uni girls went of course! Guns strapped to our thighs and all (no pictures of that tho) It was a fun night. Corrine Grant (from ROVE and Glasshouse) was the guest speaker. All you can drink wine, beer and champagne! Fun fun fun! I heard last year's theme was the Moulin Rouge. I'm very sad I missed that one.

TOMORROW!!!! I get my ZOOOOOOoooooom ZOOOOOOOooooooom!!! It's official, finally! I have to say goodbye to the gold mazdabator. It has been such a good little car! It used to putt all the way up big slopes and roll back down. People were always overtaking me on the way to Sydney... *sigh* I'll have to post some pictures soon.

Went out to an 80's party last night to celebrate a work friend's birthday. I went as Cyndi Lauper (She's So Unusual Album cover) Bought myself a new do! Found some sexy clothes! Tried a new shade of make-up. It was great. My throat is quite sore today though =(

Had a small last minute get together to have a laugh and to celebrate Smutz's Birthday! Here's the yummy chocolate cake Yola made, and the ice-cream Jacqui added. Good combination I say! Couldn't think of a better way to spend a rainy cold night. =)

I get decked out in tribal fusion gear and head to Sydney to perform at THE HILTON!!!! What a whirlwind! Straight from work, home to get dressed up, head up to Sydney with a band, perform on and off for 3 hours in the Marble Bar at the Hilton... it went off! So cool! Got home around 3am, up for work again at 7am. Somehow I survived a room full of babies today :-P So the Marble Bar reminds me of what you see in Tomb raider games, those decked out rooms in Lara Crofts house (Like the swimming pool room) but much much nicer. So much detail for one room. I wish I took my camera. The guys performed solidly for 3 hours. I was on stage 3 or 4 times in the night. Nothing was discussed on what I was to do.... we just jammed and it went off! Plus the band had a singer performing with them too which was awesome to dance to. I danced so fast last night, and just when I thought it couldn't get any faster I hear one of the band members yell out "FASTER" to the rest of the band.... weeeeeeeeeee I was so pumped afterwards! The Hilton!!! ahhhhhh

I learnt how to fire twirl today (without flamage tho) Poi and staff!! Mick taught me. Thanks Mick! Lucky I didn't have anything lit because I knocked my head and ears quite a bit at first. I really enjoyed it. It's relaxing for me. Just like dancing with a veil or sword or something... it has the same effect on me.
