Benno's my hero, and best friend. He's the first friend I ever had and I've spent my whole life wanting to be just like him. Except when he had smelly feet in high school. He's smart, super funny, kind to people, I don't know anyone who dosen't like Benno. He makes people feel good, there's like a warm sunny breeze coming from him. He has integrity, tries to do the right thing, he's the most un-vain person I know. He's been an amazing, solid support and companion, I feel damn lucky and proud to be his sister.... still wantin to be like Benno...

i lived with benno for a few months - before i moved into his house he came to my old one and helped me dig up the plants i wanted to keep from the garden there, even though some of them were weeds. he also took me and our other roommate hiking one day, pointing out various plants and patiently waiting while i took almost five minutes to discover for myself an orchid growing in the wild for the first time... he's cool like that. i'd want him to teach my kids science.

Benno is one of happiest, good natured, people I have had the pleasure to know. If he has bad moods, I have never seen it though it would be interesting to see what that would look like... I simply can't imagine. He is a great reminder to smile and remember life is good! Thanks Benno.

Vanessa and I are cooking up a human baby child. It should be ready in March. Home birth, don't know the gender. Her belly is growing every day, and I think it is pretty damn sexy. Look for me with a diaper bag and some uber-chic metro-baby sling gear this spring. Bring on the clowns! Love Benno

Someone asked me who my dream VP candidate for Obama would be. And the first thing that popped into my head was Chuck D of Public Enemy. So then I had to go back and listen to "Fight the Power". On April 4th, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Not just killed. Assassinated.
