Friends Have a Flavor

May 26, 2008
Ben is fun to Travel with. He has interesting friends, eats good food, and always likes to share his adventures. What else could a Turple want? Ben is nice to snuggle with, and doesn't hog the pillows either.

Ben is a bowl of warm spiced chocolate pudding with coconut and pistachios on top, a bassline from the Raconteurs when it goes "bomp da-domp ba-domp ba-dompbomp" and you shake your ass even though you're at work and you should be doing something serious, and the best hug you'll ever recieve.

Ben is living proof that age is purely in your mind. His youthful attitude and spirit make him a joy to spend time with.

I found him one day when he wandered onto my Sugar Cube art project at BM '06 and he stayed long enough to be one of the key builders of the project, at least as a volunteer. We kept in touch through the rest of the year and reconnected at BM '07 where I got to see his first art project, Grape Stem. Unfortunately I was not able to help him with his project but that did not seem to matter as we spent some very happy times in the desert just the same.

The more I get to know this tall and happy person, the more I like him. Too bad he lives so far away. Hopefully we will see more of him in the future.

Oh, and he can ride my bike any time.

Ben is all kinds of awesome, with awesome on top, and a side order of awesome on a raft.
I first met Ben on the playa, it was his first year. He showed up to help on our art project, and....never quite left.
Ben has an amazing enthusiasm for life, and a cheerful yay-ness that constantly reminds me that there's lots of things to YAY! about. Particularly at Burning Man!
And he's funny.
And he's sweet.
And did I mention that he's awesome?

Never Fuck Around About Cupcakes.

Why I like living in a City: We came out of the pho place after dinner, walked past the bookstore and saw that Susie Bright was going to read from the latest 'Best American Erotica' in a couple of minutes. We slid into chairs and had a lovely time.

Why I don't like living in the same city for 27 years: While Susie Bright was reading hot S&M stories, we each looked around the room and spotted an erstwhile coworker. And not in a good way.

& how else to withstand the enormity of such burden,
the burden of sight, but to believe
that there can only be the grace of others?

Lovely!
