summer is almost here

and i'm wearing flip-flops. i just got the cable hooked up today, horray. digital tv and internet. an interesting site i learned about in my Flash class is www.go2web20.net so go check it out and be endlessly amused. i am hoping i can get a raindance ticket, they go on sale tomarrow. i am even more hoping i can get the weekend before the 4th of july off which is pushing it at a new job. the new job is good, though. :) outdoor campout planned for july 20-21 very exciting.

what a wierd way to start my new year

i have been sick since jan. 1 and ended up with pink-eye starting on Friday, the only night I happened to work. so you can imagine what happened, i gave pink eye to a coworker. ugh. i had to go to urgent care yesterday and get antibiotic eye-drops. a visit which could cost me up to $400 since I decided to use my stupid student health insurance that shitty sierra nevada college made me buy. i am on day 4 of quitting smoking cigarettes. i am a real joy right now, let me tell ya. the only good thing is my amazing new boyfriend. he rocks. he brings me food and medicine and back rubs and lotsa love all the time. :) i can't wait until i can go to yoga (and snowboarding)!

Halloween

So I am going to be at the Sound Tribe Sector 9 show on Halloween in SF, anyone else going as well? Just curious who I may run into... look for me in psychedelic prints, silver pants, and a white afro!

Vacation time?

school and work. school and work. two shows this weekend, fri night absynth and then sat night was Zealous. pretty fun, i got to hang out with some good people... who helped remind me of some things about life that I've been missing. I think i am currently going through a break-up. shit. (again) I'm so tired all the time. There are some fun shows coming up as well, I think maybe I need to start drinking coffee again. Tea isn't cutting it anymore. I don't know if I'm ready to re-gain one addiction when I still need to get rid of another (smoking). I'm working on dremmeling (i.e. power tools) this 3-wood-block snake that is 11x14 times three and it is taking forever. I think it is same to assume I am behind in my class. I just happened to get too ambitious, which tends to happen with art. I really need to go to bed because I have to wake up early and make it to ceramics class. Ugh... school and work. Both of which happen tomarrow.

so I'm back in school, once again an art student. what a life change, adjusting to the schedual and commuting through road construction and such to the north shore. I went to some awesome shows this weekend, even though I didn't get to go to Burning Man. There's always next year... and the year after and the year after... next year was way better, anyway.

I saw DJ Tiesto on Thursday for free, I won 4 tickets from the radio station and took Vince, Chris, and Chris's new girlfriend Tonya. It was a lot of fun! I dressed up in playa gear and had fun... broke my light up glow balls... I gotta invest in the real practice poi ones. Any recommendations on where to buy online? ? ?

Sunday night was BT at Opal Ultra Lounge. What an interesting night to say the least... The beats were great and I danced my ass off despite the set not starting until 1am and only lasting an hour and a half. Monday night I worked and ended up waiting on BT and his wife (I think) Ashley, drinking sake with them. Fun! I want to order This Binary Universe now like you wouldn't believe.

Dancing a lot only makes me want to ... go out and dance more. Too bad that good music doesn't come to Tahoe regularly. There are some shows to look foward to, though. Moe, Easy Star All-Stars, and even Love Fest SF if I decide to make it to the bay. Such a journey when you don't have a good car. I wish I could go to Earthdance or Symbiosis. Anyone going ? Take me with you! Just kidding.

a day off listening to reggae

so what's happening? i got promoted to head waitress at my job. sweet, i can make my own schedual at some point, possibly from the 2nd week of August on... i went camping one night, got eaten by misquitos the next morning. i took my dog and a friend's and tied glow sticks and strobe lights to them. always entertaining. :) there are some good shows coming up this summer.

and those are just the expensive ones! i want to go to everything! how will i ever save any money? thank God that i am not trying to go to burning man! i just had my bf put my skateboard together for me! time to learn to skate! t's a hades deck. www.hadeskateboards.com my buddies/his roomates company. last time we went to reno we watched the photoshoot for the catalog in a pool and vinnie attempted skating it! ;) i'm still gardening, just planted lavender, more cilantro, and some smaller sunflowers. it might be too late for them to bloom from seeds though, esp. if it's an early winter (i can hope!).

ramp madness

so the ramps at vince's house got re-masonited. lots and lots o' skating madness. i'm waiting for him to go see a friend of a friend's funk band. we might go camping this week. work is getting busy. tips make me happy! i applied to college at sierra nevada college in incline village. it's fathers day and i didn't call my real father. i called my godfather. vince and i went to the beach today with the dogs. i'm working on fading my tattoos and getting tan. i can't help but not want to be pasty when it's summer. i read "becoming like god" about the kabahhlah. it was rad.

Raindance Campout

Last weekend was spent in the redwoods of Big Basin outside Santa Cruz on an indian reservation/boy scout camp with Vince. It was totally amazing, too much so for words. But I can try................ DJ Lorin aka Bassnectar rocked so hard Saturday night, I was dancing until I was almost falling down... but I didn't! :) He even made Vince dance, and that's an accomplishment! Lorin even dropped some jungle... so rad! What I heard and saw of Tipper's set was awesome, and Heavyweight Dub Champions were astonishing at sunset. Camping was so much fun! The living art always takes my breath away. The (sweat) lodge was always dropping the dopest, hardest beats and bass. I loved it in there, all the freaks getting crazy! We also hit SF the night before, and Santa Cruz and Capitola on Sunday. Seeing the ocean restored serenity and dancing recharged my soul.

yonder mountain string band tonight. cookies to bake. breakfast and tea in bed. a good night at work last night. i had a nice talk with rick last night. things are pretty damn good. and i don't have to drive to the show tonight, i got a ride with amy and her daughter veda in the blue chevy van. sweet. could it be better than this right now?
