Suggestion & Metaphor: A RACK Workshop about Mesmerism & BDSM Sunday, January 27 SF Citadel 2:00pm - 5:00pm (Doors open at 1:00pm) $5/SOJ Members; $15 Non-members (You do not need to be a Janus member to attend) Do you ever fantasize about having your actions, feelings and perceptions guided by the words and intellect of another? Or are you the one leading the way with only your skills as a cunning linguist? Does mental control sound like a kinky dream come true? Then your host, RJ, invites you to come to Suggestion & Metaphor, a RACK-friendly hands- & minds-on workshop about mesmerism in BDSM play. If all you've ever seen of trance work is bad movies and cheesy stage shows, get ready for a thrilling evening of enchanting discovery. RJ will cover precautions and induction skills for both new and experienced hands at the Mesmeric Arts. Techniques will be demonstrated on volunteers and then you'll have you ample time to explore and experience your own perverted ideas for entrancing fun. This class subscribes to RACK --Risk-Aware Consensual Kink-- so be prepared to responsibly investigate your desires with open and compassionate partners. Your facilitator, RJ, is a Society of Janus member who has been involved in the scene as a smart-aleck switch for two decades and is a self-taught mesmerist of equal experience. He has incorporated mesmerism into his BDSM play as both a top and bottom for the past 16 years. RJ has worked as a private tutor and corporate trainer for the last decade. Suggestion & Metaphor is his first class created expressly for the BDSM community.
Had a faboo time; just wandered the faire with a few folks and snapped some pictures and basically marinated in the crowd.

Of course a trip to the world of free-range costumes wouldn't be complete without at least one picture, so enjoy!

Thanksgiving in San Francisco means it is time for the Dickens Christmas Fair again. I ahve some pictures from this Friday with several-many taken of the the lovely Dark Garden shop window living mannequin display. Full gallery is here.
I have my first batch of 2007 Dickens Christmas Fair pictures up in my LJ Scrapbook. As with other images, if you are one of the people pictured, I'll be happy to send you copies of your photos. Otherwise these are for your viewing (not downloading) pleasure.

And anyone else who fondly recalls James Coburn's "Flint" movies from the 60s.

As much as I liked the first Austin Powers (plus Heather Graham in the second) and Undercover Brother, I've always had a desire to see a remake of the old "Flint" movies. Watching the new TV show Chuck has reminded me of this, in part because the show's over-the-top style of sexy agents. Anyway, I wanted to remake Flint with a female lead but with the character still named Derek Flint (for her grandfather). Like the original, sex is a part of it; not flaunting it, but just being very happily sexual and sensual. The modern Flint is bisexual, so her household assistants are both sexes and probably different amounts of gender fluidity rolled in as well. Like the original, the modern Derek would be lethal and striking and someone who can do her own stunts/ The casting took me a bit of time; after seeing Serenity I decided that I prefered Summer Glau to Keira Knightly; both can do tomboy sexy to full glam, but Glau's dancer moves seemed better suited for close-in combat work. After that, I wanted a good foil to fill in for Lee J. Cobb. Richard Dean Anderson might actually do for that role; he's aged well, but isn't too old. For her retinue I'm thinking of Alyson Hannigan, John Barrowman, Julia Ling and Michael Obiora. The villain should also be female. Any suggestions?
