Matt is goofy, curious, intelligent, caring, and even-keeled. You know how when you go to parties, some people are wallflowers, others are sparky-fun, with a wicked glint in their eye? Matt has a glint in his eye.
He has a zest for life and a willingness to play that most adults have lost. He's also remarkably steady and good at "keep on keepin' on." He's a great dad and an enthusiastic dance partner. I count myself fortunate daily for having a partner that complements me so well.
But he still can't estimate distance for shite. ;)

What can I say about Bicycle Matt?
His story is the story of a boy and his bike.
Words just can't quite adequately describe the force of nature that is Matt.

As the old story goes, the greek philosopher, Diogenes, searched in vain for "one good man." Well, if he had found Bicycle Matt, he could have stopped his search, because Matt is one of the good guys. I mean to say that he is a decent, hard-working, and humble human being, who strives valiantly to keep life simple.
Matt has his causes, like everyone else does, but his causes are few, and with zeal. He really does truely believe that Bicycles are good, and cars are an unfortunate addiction that all the rest of us have, and he forgives us for that.
He is also one of the few people I have met in Seattle, who gracefully made the transition from bachelor to married man, and just took it all in stride like it was a natural progression in life.
He's a great human being, and I wish I saw him more often, so I get get my bicycle worked on!
